Ahhhhh. Finally finished ebay listing, invoicing, wrapping, addressing. Where did the weekend go? Oh well, a bath and then off to bed I guess.
A very productive weekend, but think I will have some time off the ebaying after next weekend. I want me time back!

I hear that, It's my sounding off board, and therapy in a way.

Had my recurring dream that I have once in a while, where I either

    a) walk into the spare bedroom of my house and find a cot there, then my mum walks in and I ask her why there is a cot there, and she says, as if I had temporary memory loss 'it's your baby, you had a baby', and I in utter disbelief think that she is pulling my leg (because it wasn't there yesterday)

    or

    b) I got to the doctors, he confirms I'm pregnant, and I breakdown into a hysterical wreck, saying that it can't be true I haven't finished studying yet, and I'm not where I wanted to be in life, and this has come at a really bad time.

Now not being a psychologist I'm either a) Not cut out to be a mum or b) Have a big fear of not being where I expected to be career wise, house wise etc at this time of my life.

Anyway, just thought I'd share that with you.....

Well just read another great short story by Stephen King. I know those literary types would probably disapprove, but I figured that in order to discover who me really is, I needed to go back and start doing some of the stuff I did when i did know who me really was.

Woman takes to running as a release after her child died of cot death. She becomes obsessed and finally ends up leaving her husband. She escapes to an island where her dad keep a small shack. She spends her days running further and further down the beach, whilst trying to sort her head out and realise what she really wants.

Warned to keep away from one of the islands residents, curiosity gets the better of her, when she sees the gate open. Dead blond in the trunk, and next thing she knows, the world has gone grey. She wakes up gaffer taped to a chair and this guy slashing her with a little knife. Anyway.... he gets out of her the name of the guy, who warned her about him, and goes off to sort him out. She in the meantime uses the strength of her legs to get free of the chair, he returns etc etc. She escapes by the skin of her teeth.

Anyway ultmately it was her inner strength that saved her, she stuck with something she believed in (her running) and it paid off.

I'm determined to be that woman, I'm going to keep running, even when the chips are down!!! Just one of those stories that put things into perspective for me. :)

Had a really good day today. Training was exhausting but it has made me realise that I need to get out of that job, I'm just wasting my time there. I need to get some team leadership or project management under my belt and get on!

I'm going to use some of my annual leave next summer, to volunteer in a third world country. I'm sure it would be a very grounding, rewarding experience and will get me onto my desired career path.

I'm also planning in the next three years to shed this weight, get training and get some sponsorship to go on a group trek to climb mount Kilamanjaro. Always wanted to do something like that, both for a good cause and to really push myself to my limit.

Life is for living, and you only get one chance. I'm going to fit as much in as I can!!

  • Hey thrifty, just caught up with your posts. Sounds like you've been doing a lot of thinking!

Mr R is a project manager - and a programme one - he's just quitting his job and hoping to pick up contracting work - he says there's lots of it around. He's been well paid too in recent years since doing his quals, so def worth persuing. He also runs marathons, on the basis of (as you say), you only live once so might as well cram it all in.

Shame I do none of this myself, just live vicariously through him. ;)

Hoorah! So payday tomorrow and I'm itching to pay some more off the credit card.Keep checking online banking to see if it went in before midnight. Nothing yet! Village is doing a promises thing. I think basically everyone pledges something, and then this goes up for auction, all proceeds to to the church (only attend weddings and funerals myself, but hey it's a good cause). Now what to pledge? If I could do something like an Indian head massage then I could pledge that. Hmmmm, what to do!

Although I can pay £800 off the credit card this month, might pay £500 and save the other towards the brooch. As Virgin have kept me on my old rate now I want to show that I pay the same amount each month. If they see the amounts paid off, go up and down then it is a bit unpredictable. £500 is the amount that I can ordinarily pay when I don't have any other income from ebay sales etc. So I figure that if I keep it as this amount each month it shows that there is some kind of plan (I can always overpay at the end of the year anyway). Good plan? I don't know, just be glad when I can pay it off and tell them to do one!

    Paaaaaaaayyyyydddddaaaaayyyyy!

I literally leapt out of bed to switch my laptop on and make my payments, as if it were Christmas morning. £400 paid off today, another £400 to be paid in the coming days. Shiny new signature :)
