Thank you savingwannabe. They are much better today. They are still itchy but they are not stinging or sticky or weeping. I had an hour long bus journey to make yesterday and concentrated on "my eyes are good, my eyes are good, my eyes are good". I don't know whether it was that or just because they had an hour off, but they were watering really badly (I must have looked more than a little mad :rotfl:) and that seems to have done the trick. If it comes back at all, I'm straight off to pester my doctor again
.
Hi Happy, how are you? I haven't bumped into so much lately, we must be keeping different hours. I hope everything is ok. Take care :A
Today was a tough day at work so I am going to curl up and read a book I think. Just one of those situations where there is nothing I can do to help and the available options are limited. And if they don't work, I don't know where we go. And the people concerned have already been through so much that you really do wish you could wave a magic wand and change something - only that something is elusive.
Despite that, I'm feeling very positive today. Possibly because I wore my wonderous dress to work today (I figured I'm never out to wear it then and it's way to lovely to be hiding in the closet). And I had jewellry on too! And got lots of compliments (after the initial, "what's the special ocassion comments :rotfl:). Now I'm metally wondering whether I have other favourite outfits that never see the light of day! (I bought Gok Wan's book at the weekend when I picked up a few christmas presents. Can you tell?)
I sold my second item on ebay :T. And have one bid and lots of watchers on something else. Though a few things didn't sell. I need to get better at estimating the postage (despite using scales and the calculator thingy) as I was down 50p on the first thing I sent.
It's a bit depressing only getting £.99 for some things, but I do like seeing the amount of money I'm earning go up (£4.19 Woohooo! It's almost the euromillions :rotfl:). I just need to perfect the art of listing quickly so the whole thing is not so tedious!
Today is an NSD. I was planning on going to the gym later, but I made the mistake of coming home and sitting down first! Oops! (Like I didn't already know what the outcome would be by doing that!) So a cup of tea, some minstrels and a book or a blether (going to phone a friend as soon as I think the kids will be in bed) it is instead! Much more fun!
And no plans on spending!

Ignoring the gym again this evenig (even though I put my kit in the boot so I could go straight from work!). I did go to yoga tough. I think I was supposed to be doing this:
Not this:
I feel very tired today and I'm a bit annoyed by that because I did actually keep to my bed-time routine.
I'm also a bit paranoid that I'm not getting my mail! There's a few things I'm waiting on that have just not arrived yet (student card, car lease quotes, friend's birthday present) and I'm pretty sure they should be here by now. But I also know I got all of the ebay stuff I ordered for dressmaking last weekend without problem. I guess you never grow out of that excitement you get as a kid when you get post that's just for you. It's just most of the post I get these days I don't really want!
Which reminds me, I best go read the meters and put them into Scottish Power's website (how annoyed am I that I'm already a customer given their cashback offer!) I have still resisted putting the heating on - but I think given how cold I was in bed last night and this morning (despite 15 tog duvet; I'm a cold bod!) it's time to relent!
Today has been an NSD so I'm sitting at 7/12. And there's now 11people watching one of my ebay items, which ends on Saturday. I'm crossing my fingers that ther e might be a wee bidding war
. (Though still find the whole thing very tedious! Was quizzing a colleague about car boots today. Basically I think I'm way to much of a night owl (for which read grumpy moo early in the morning!) for a car boot! But this colleaugue knows of a car boot in a posh bit of the city so it might be worth looking into (though don't know my clutter will be posh enough! :rotfl:)

I tried a carboot once: after extortionate pitch fees and not being organised enough to bring hot drinks etc. so I had to buy them for both me and my mum (who was helping), I think I made a profit of about £2! :rotfl:

All huge concerns of mine! I don't like mornings. I don't like cold. I like a good cup of tea. My stuff isn't that interesting or expensive!
Did any-one else, as kids, knock on the neighbours doors asking for any old carp for a jumble sale, which we actually did then sell and make money for charity! (Though I can't remember how we ever managed to have change for people because I doubt we had our own money to begin with!) I must ask my mum if she let family and friends know so they came along and bought something at least! :rotfl:Jan10: 28,315.81 Jan11: 18,015.32 Jan12: 7,682.58 Jan13: 2,987.73 Current debt: 1,225.55

 Car lease quotes came through... even more expensive than when I originally applied! I'm looking at an average of £200 per month. It's so confusing and people give you so much adevice - all of it conflicting! I keep being told it's be cheaper to get my own car. But I need it daily for work as I work in the community and cover a pretty hefty geographical area, so it can't be a wee banger 'cos that'll end up costing me more (which is why I begrudgingly gave up my first ever true love; my 10 year old, rusty golf, whom I adored. But he started costing way too much in maintenance!). But if I get a loan (assuming it was accepted!!!) for a decent car, I wouldn't be looking at much less than £200 a month and then I'd have tax, MOT, insurance, breakdown cover and maintence on top of that... I don't particularly care thet the car isn't mine and that £200 is everything I'd need to pay out, and it'd come straight out of my wages... but I only pay £75 for my current lease car... (none of us can figure out why there's been such a huge jump, it's seems to have been going steadily up since April.) Argh! Decisions, decisions!
Posted my second ebay sale today. And asked the lady behind the counter about blueys; she was more clued up andf I now have a handful which you do get free from your post office! :j It's the little things!
I keep misjudging my postage on ebay though, despite using the postage calculator thing though. Last time I was 50p out, this time 40p.So, since that lost me my NSD, I got some soup and bread from S&M
for lunch! And ordered my neices christmas pressie online.
I also got my friend's pressie delivered, which reminded me to pay of my credit card all in one go! :T Only here on MSE can we understand such excitement! :j (Her pressie was the only thing on it and was from T*ck*tM*st*r so figured the credit card would be the safest way.)
Oh, I aslo had to pay the deposit for our department's christmas lunch . At the risk of sounding Bah Humbug, my department is small and b*tchy (my department is different from the office where I'm based) and I'd rather not go! But last time I tried to get out of it, my boss, in her infinite wisdom, told me she was paying for me (my - very legitimate - excuse was that I couldn't afford it. And if I was forking out for dinner at that time of year, I'd rather it was with my friends than my colleagues. Admittedly I might have mumbled that bit under my breath as she walked away though! :rotfl: She said she could afford it and she was having no arguments, she was paying.)
Last year I was off sick so I got out of it, though I did lose my deposit. And this year again, I'd rather not go! But feel I can't really say that! I also get annoyed at paying over the odds for mediocre food that's rushed out to you! Especially when, in most places, the veggie option usually seems to be a complete after thought. But, it's paid for now. Rant over - until 14th December! Unless I am blown away by the creativity of the cooking!
Anyway, I'm almost 20 minutes past my curfew! So best get out of here and find something to pamper myself with!

Does sitting staring at my postgrad stuff online for a while count as working on it? I have scrawled some notes down!
My eyes are away again! I think they are as tired of it as I am, so it's back of to pester the doc!
Tomorrow I want to look at a projected budget for the year. My flat-mate is doing my head in. He has no idea and he isn't actually doing anything specific to annoy me; he's just there. All (and I mean all!) the time! I want my flat back! So I need to get the debt to a level where I can drop £250 a month and not worry about it!
Which means I need to step up the debt busting efforts! (Especially because I'll have a list as long as my arm for doing up the flat by then so I'll also need to find out what savings are!)

This weekend has been so much less productive than last weekend! Yesterday I was mostly sleeping. Can't say I feel any better for it! And I gave up my NSD for a trip to a gorgeous ice-cream place in the West end. Pretty expensive for tea and cake and icecream, but WOW! What a cake! What ice cream! What presentation! It's definitely on my "treat list" (which never existed before now
.)
Caught up on some emails and went to my friends (made them write a wee ditty on one of my blueys too. People don't like to be put on the spot, do they? "But what will I write? I've not been doing anything." Tell him about the nothing you have been doing!!!! It's the normal stuff he wants to hear about, he's not exactly in a normal situation! Mini rant over!) to shout at the telly whilst watching X-factor! Our bottom three are Diva Fever, Wagner and Storm. That's my order. There was some heated discussion about this. One friend is incensed that Wagner isn't top of the list, but while it might have been awful, I was literally crying with laughter! And I "lof" his pronunciation of "love" as lof. Can't decide on a favourite yet, though top runners are probably Rebecca, Treyc and Mary. Subject to change!
I've slept a lot today too and this bedroom is just as cluttered as ever (it must hae happened while I was sleeping. I'm sure it was immaculate last night!) I think I need to bite the bullet and take stuff to the charity shop. I can't ebay everything, I don't have the time or patience and to be honest, some of it probably isn't worth my time and effort on ebay but might bring the charity shop a bit of income.
It's just the looking round and wondering where to start that puts you off, isn't it!
And today I really need to start the postgrad stuff before I make myself sick with worrying about it! I have about six hours before heading back to friend's for dinner and results night.
I think I'll find a much bigger bag for the charity shop and take stuff to the dump. In between doing that, it needs to be postgrad and collecting the necessary articles together.
I feel some music and 15 minute time slots heading my way...Jan10: 28,315.81 Jan11: 18,015.32 Jan12: 7,682.58 Jan13: 2,987.73 Current debt: 1,225.55

Ever get the feeling that you should have just left well alone! I'm in chaos! The best I can hope for is organised chaos! :rotfl:
(And where did all that rain just appear from!)
Dolly Parton and The White Stripes have been helping me along this afternoon. (Too much off key singing along to Dolly, not enough sorting!)Jan10: 28,315.81 Jan11: 18,015.32 Jan12: 7,682.58 Jan13: 2,987.73 Current debt: 1,225.55
