  • Gah that is rubbish Nic! It's Saturday 25th, I'm getting there about 1-1.30 if flight is on time, and I think we are all meeting around 3pm, going to Oran Mor now as the other place has closed. I'm staying the night and flying back on Sunday around 5ish I think. I'm sure we can figure something out... just come along for a bit, it would be lovely to see you, or we can always get together for lunch on the Sunday or something, whatever suits you best. I can't come to Glasgow and not see you though!

Trying my best with finance oh is doing more of the spreadsheet and everything is paid via direct debit so its not for us to worry about and that means we can be as less involved as we want to be :o

Its great to have you back, i know what you mean re laptop ban its so tempting to pass the day away on this and then you end up with nothing done lol

Happy times speak soon :) xx

Buddha has closed - nooooooooooo! Shows you how much I go out!!! If you are meeting at 3 then there's no excuses - I don't start until 9pm. But I might be a tad grumpy that you can all have a wee drink and I can't ;).

Did you get the ironing done Happy? I spent Sunday ironing and watching the Grand Prix. I love Mark Webber! :D I hate ironing (but I had to buy a new iron so figured I better use it at least the once!).

Been to the gym tonight and Body Balance last night - I'm in agony! That'll teach me!!!

And done a mystery shop - ended up spending as much as they paid me and got cash back too. Oops! But I do have lots of lovely things to eat now. :D

I'm off to bed now (there's something really weird on the telly and it's freaking me out) before I turn into a pumpkin (when I left the gym tonight I was full of resolve to get up and go again tomorrow morning before work. Thankfully, that madness has worn off now!) So off to make the most of curling up in my cosy bed! Night :)

Back on the train again after a monumental bad time in my life..... :T
  • Hiya Nic!

I'm flying around the forum and trying to read through diaries/threads to catch up with what you've all been up to, on most there's fair bit of reading. Now I'm grateful to you for keeping that down to a minimum and I know between work and responding to extensively long e-mails (part 2 kept short! :p) as well as real life can sometimes get in the way of your MSE time but it looks as though someone's fell off the wagon! ;)

Summers over honey, no more weddings and christenings to attend and Christmas getting ever closer, time to get back down to it! ;)

No more procrastinating (I really must look that up in the dictionary later! :rotfl:)

You know I'll check back later! :p

    Love & hugs to you!

I came sauntering in here, all things budgety swirling around in my head, thinking I best grovel to you guys, get my head down and get back to it... only to find SouthernBelle* obviously knew I was dawdling along behind her somewhere and has said exactly what I was mumbling to myself as I creeped in! :rotfl::D

Welshangel - yay! You're still around too? How did that new (or not so new any more I guess!) tattoo go? How have you been?

Yes - I'm not sure if I fell off the wagon, if I was pushed off the wagon or if I ran and jumped of the wagon, maniaclly ripping up my budget sheets as I flew through the air...

But there's no denying that the wagon had disappeared miles in front of me somewhere! But I hear tell that it's waiting at a service station nearby... and I don't even have to crawl back up onto it; all the lovely peeps already there will shifty around a bit and help pull me back up. :D

On the plus side; I've not got myself into any more debt and all my minimum payments are being met...

But there's not that much more gone to them on top of that. :o

And there seems to be a few more things coming out of my account that I don't like (Lovefilm, CreditExpert) and haven't got around to cancelling. :o:o

And no, I never did send that letter to the stupid kitchen company. And it still annoys me that I haven't! :o:o:o

And my paperwork is all over the place again!

And I start my postgrad certificate on Friday (second time round as they deferred my place while I was ill at the beginning of the year) so I need to get on top of that pronto! Or I will be chasing my tail and stressing myself out - which is exactly what I've been saying I don't want to do!

SB honey, do be a dear and read up on the speed-reading thing for me and then summarise any time management stuff you then find... I think I'm going to need it!!!

I'm thinking [URL="http://https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/2445739Girl's[/URL] 15 minutes thingymebob might work well for me! But I will need an alarm because something weird happens to time when I get on my laptop!

Like right now for example. It can't possible by quarter past midnight! That breaks all my late night laptop bans!

    So....

    I need to

    budget
    debt-bust
    [STRIKE] spring[/STRIKE] autumn clean
    start the postgrad
fit in the yoga and gym (it keeps me sane; honest it does)
finish the dressmaking course (loving it! More on that another day)

and try and remain sane and get more sleep....

    Easy peasy lemon sqeezy.....

    Ok, deep breathes....

(I'm starting with the sleep thing for now! ;) Sweet dreams to you all :A)

  • Told you I'd check back in! :p

It was Summer, we all need a break sometimes so don't be too hard on yourself, you earn extra brownie points for making your way back to your diary AND for not increasing debts.:T

Hard to keep up with everything and even harder not getting sidetracked with other threads but does help with focus on dealing with things we try hardest to put off.:D

    Welcome back honey!;)

PS...PPI & DLA still not dealt with either! :o

I popped on the 'puter to check my bank account 'cos BT sent me a letter about changing my direct debit... I changed my bank account in February... it can't have taken them that long and I don't remember changing anything recently...

But I've been sidetracked already! Can you set up kidlocks on your own laptop? ;)

Today's been a no spend day. And unless I decide to move my a** of the sofa and drag myself to the gym (becoming less and less likely and wouldn't cost me any money anyhoo) I have no intention of leaving the flat again tonight.

Dressmaking class is on Tuesadys, straight from work so it's a long day and I'm shattered today. I completed my mock-up dress... it looked like a workhouse dress (i.e. a sack!!!) because my hips and bust are a size bigger than my waist. And I apparently have a hollow back. So the whole thing was then pinned to me by the lovely teacher and she drew in the new contours... so next week we sort that out, use it as the pattern and we can begin the real work on the proper material.
I was going for some knid of woolen blend tweed look 'cos it's a wee winter tunic dress... but I was sensible and went for the £6 per metre material not the £35 (gorgeous cashmere, smokey grey with a touch of hot pink through it!) The £6 one is black corduroy with little cerise and blue flowers on it.

I'm pretty rubbish at dressmaking; even my left-handed scissors can't help me cut in anything other than the jaggiest of lines; every time I put the spool into the machine, it flies out across the room as there's something I'm evidently forgetting to do!; I constantly snap the thread; I'm either to slow or too fast; I'm too scared!

But despite that I love it! It totally absorbs me 'cos, obviously with all the above difficulties ;), I have to concentrate really, really hard... you know the way, when you have no idea your tongue's been hanging out the side of your mouth for most of the night! :rotfl:

Luckily, I'm running short of month to make my NSD challenge, otherwise I probably would have been tempted by the calls of many harberdashery/material stores online! That could be messy!

Right, SB* - you and I need a challenge/pact! You need to get the PPI and DLA sorted; I need to get the kitchen deposit and the paperwork (at least) sorted. What's our time-scale?

I reckon we need to give it a few weeks so Psycho can concentrate on studying for a couple of wee questions she has to answer and we can't be implicated in any procrastination techniques she may have learned! ;):p.

Hmmm, I hit submit and then thought, really I need to start the 15 minute thing right now!

I'll make the first 15 quite motivating though; I'm going to make my dinner (lazy dinner in anticipation of me being kerknackered! Veggie sausage rolls, roasted baby potatoes and beans).

Flatmate wants to watch footie later so it's probably a good night to try and get some stuff sorted! :p
