good evening all, hope you had a good weekend. mine was.
friday night was really good, I saw all my little cousins on that side (4, two each of b and g) the younger girl i've not seen in many years! The terrible twosome weren't all that bad. sure they were drinking and smoking despite looking younger than they were but I realised it's their commonplace mother thats at fault and not them. my mum got the elder of the two girls (15) up to dance with me and it was like dancing with someone ten years younger, she had to hold my hands and be practically moved round the floor, she had no confidence. At one point she did try to dance with her mum who brushed her off. poor thing.
decided that night that I'm organising and hosting a party for my mum and stepdad. Next Feb it'll be 20 years since they started going out and as they've never married they've never had that family party. The first time both families were brought together was at mums 50th last year and now I'm going to sort an anniversary party for them
can't wait. got so many ideas already.
On saturday we went to see my granda and today we went to see an old family friend and her oh and daughter. it's the daughters 1st birthday tomorrow and she's absolutely amazing. Such a happy friendly child.
I've made a big decision last night though. I'm getting fit and losing weight. I went on mum's scales last night and if they are right I've now put back on two of the three stone I lost. I am so unbelievably gutted i don't even know how to say it. I was so proud of how well I did and now.... I'm going to look into an exercise bike or something. If I could ride that for an hour each day then hopefully I can get to 10st for xmas. I suppose it's a short time to lose two and a half stone but thats my goal. Went shopping with mum tonight and it's all healthy so thats a start (despite the glass of wine i'm enjoying at the moment, was in the fridge and needs getting rid of

afternoon chaps.
am doing well so far today. diet wise had a cereal bar and banana with a cup of tea for brekkie. two rolls with ham on and a little tub of low fat custard for lunch. got a bag of crisps and an apple for snacks in the avo/bus ride home!
money wise, not spent anything so far and am think I want to aim for no spends until the weekend.so long as nothing comes up I should manage. fingers crossed.
feeling a little more positive with myself today, the skirt and jumper I wore for work feel like they make me look slimmer than I normally feel so thats a big
evidentally the postie is catching up after his lazy week. went round for the mail this morning thinking flamin heck thats a lot of letters only to be told that was just saturdays and todays wasn't in yet  ah well better busy than bored!0 -
Hi LJ. Just having a catch up.
That's so lovely of you to organise a party for your Mum & Step Dad. I bet it will be fantastic fun. You will keep us posted on that I hope?
So the terrible twosome weren't too terrible then? That's good. Felt sorry for the girl when you said she was all shy/no confidence on the dance floor then got brushed off by her Mum. To me that's like slapping your child in the face or something. It really riles me when you see parents just fobbing their kids off.
*OK off on a tangent* I was on a train on Sunday and this little boy was telling his Dad a big story about he & his little friend had achieved something..he was so enthusiastic about it...and when he finished his Dad (who was gazing out of the windows) just kind of muttered "....right...." and that was it.
Poor little kid, talk about pee on his party!
OK - weight loss. I am glad you are feeling more positive and I am sure you will get fitter and back in shape for Christmas with healthy eating and some exercise.
Do look into various pieces of exercise equipment - don't just plump for an exercise bike unless of course you know you love them. I had one and I found it excruciatingly dull after the first couple of sessions! If you can pick one up off freecycle (no pun intended!) then great but don't shell out a lot. (Unless of course, as I said you know you love 'em).
Trampolines are fun!

hey hun, the reason I thought of a bike was that it was relatively low impact cardio and therefore less likely to give me black eyes than a treadmill say...plus I can go on it while I'm watching tv and so pass the time a bit better. Wouldn't say there is any exercise I LOVE but it's about taking your mind off the fact your exercising, it was part of my speil at the gym cause the bikes there have tv's on them.
Do love idea of a trampoline so I'll have a nose at non ebay prices (we had a fight, it was terrible and now I'll never be able to shop there again...).
I'll defo keep you posted on the party and if you haev any bright ideas on how I'll pay for it please feel free to suggest. I've never done anything like this before so I'll probably miss something really obvious like the dj or summit!0 -
Trampolines....I think you can buy them off Amazon as well so you never know you could get a bargain there. Just make sure you get one with 6 legs.
OK I will have a think about the party and let you know if I get any bright ideas! You could ask some near relatives to contribute a little even if only £20 or something - every little helps and hopefully some will give more?
February might be a really quiet time for DJ's - you might get to haggle if you get quotes off of a few people. Same with catering or you might be able to do some of that yourself/with family.
OK I *have* to go now - I have been sitting here for over an hour putting off my chores. Lazy cow that I am!Bank Balance: In the black for the moment.

OOOh I'll have a look at amazon, got enough on lightspeed to get a voucher or two and a dvd to buy from there so will combine it all.
One of my rellies already volunteered a substantial donation but I should manage. Am going to do my own invites and was already thinking of catering. The trouble with that one would be having a kitchen/transport for it. Mum lives an hour away from me so it's not easy but i'll cope!
hope you got your chores done hunny! xx0 -
there is no telling how much I hate today.
getting onto second bus this morning realise i've lost my bus pass (£140 an due to last till xmas) thankfully the second bus driver was nice and called it through, they found my pass and put it into the shop. left work early to pick it up, got to the door of the bus and it left the stop so had to wait for the normal bus and RAN from the stop to the shop. thought I was gonna die! Thankfully made it with two minutes to go and got my pass. Oh and morning driver gave me a day pass to cover me getting back into town again.
gets home and goes out back to get gloss to make a start on skirtings in hallway to find that two of the four ceramic pots I've had for years has been smashed against the wall. One of which was the rose plant I'd got to remember the 30th anniversary of my grans death. hopefully i can repot it when I get a pot but goodness knows how long it's been there. Dad is gonna help me get a spotlight put up out the back (no lighting atm) and am now gonna have a police officer come round and give me security advice. I'm sick and tired of not being able to feel happy and secure in my gardens. I was in floods of tears at the sheer callousness of children these days.
and on top of that despite me wearing my Saltire pants and Scotland shirt (and nothign else
) my darling boys are two goals down at the moment and it's making me
. I mean where the heck is Georgia anyway!?!?!?!? 0 -
Oh hun, sorry you have had such a crappy day. And of course the footie isn't good today, whichever side of the border you are on - plastic pitches indeed :mad:Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. so mcbirnie just informed me. afraid we don't have the pitch excuse though. missed the first half and tried not to watch the second half. Seems whenever my boys are onto a good thing they get too confident. gutted.0 -
LJ I am sorry about the smashed pot (especially as it held sentimental value) and I completely identify with that sick feeling you get when you realise things aren't as serene as you think they are. When you realise someone may have been snooping around or being plain malicious.
You are definitely doing the right thing getting security advice and getting the spotlight fitted.
Have you got window locks and the best lock on all doors that you can get? If not - I know it's expense but it's a necessity these days I am afraid.
Sorry the bus journey was fraught too! But at least he bus driver was good to you and you have the bus pass back now - pheweeeeeeee!
Let's hope tomorrow is much better hon.Bank Balance: In the black for the moment.
