-call the dwp re; benefits I've been receiving this year. Sent them a letter just after I started my new job but they've not stopped paying me and as they are !!!!!!s I'll only have more to pay back so need it stopped asap! well I phoned them and nothing has gone in today but I've not received a letter which isnt surprising really since the strike.

-once savings acct gets opened start transferring money over. Have decided I'd make more money by spending on a 0% cc and putting cash into savings acct to cover full payment at end of 0% period than with a cashback card. Done a spreadhseet to track spends and deposits to ensure it's covered.
not had much chance to sit down and look at it but will do asap
-try to have nsd all week (maybe not thursday if I need anything for the weekend) nope

-try to get all the cleaning and things done monday-thursday so friday can be spent pampering myself for the birthday/wedding on saturday. did spend friday pampering and posting on here but didn't clean everything

-if the company dealing with house repairs sends out the documents this week I'll make a start on filling them out. awaiting the end of the stupid psotal strike

Right here are this weeks aims,

-when wage slip arrives get onto tax office about ridiculous amount of tax coming out, am only looking at getting paid £40 this week (!!!!!!????)

-keep spending to a minimum until friday, started well with a nsd today :D need to do food shop tomorrow, nsd wednesday, thursday I might need to nip into town and buy a new top for a wedding reception on friday.

unfortunatly I've not got much time this week, tomorrow I'm needing to go food shopping after work and will have to finish cleaning my flat. Wednesday I have a friend and her mum coming over for dinner, am going to cook greek food as I'll be showing off my holiday snaps :) thursday I'll need to pop into town after work and friday I'm going home for the weekend. On top of all that after tomorrow work is going to be a total b*gger, as I open the mail at work I've been bored since last thursday and I'm now going to get a weeks worth of work in one day and can't even come in at the weekend for the overtime.

    Me no likey postmans.

So I think this week will be mostly spent keeping on track but not advancing my position. If I can stay on a level playing field I'll be happy.

Ooooh hope you get more than £40 hon.

Good luck with all that post!

Maybe a lot of people won't have bothered posting anything whilst strikes are on? It might not be *too* bad.

I'm doing chicken souvlaki for me an her mum with pork souvlaki for her (she has a bird phobia) with roasted new potatoes and onions and a roasted tomato starter which I'll just serve with the main course. I bought a packet of souvlaki herbs while I was over there but it also says on it which herbs are in it so I can make it myself in future (see I did think like a dfw on holiday!). It's my dads birthday on friday and I'm going there to see him on saturday so I might make him it for dinner too.

Speaking of my dad, he's retiring from the fire service in January after nearly 31 years and I'm hoping to find a really special present for him. It's a big time for all of us, it'll be weird not having a fireman for a dad. And worst of all I have to go to a party with LOTS of firemen, terrible cursed soul I am ;) It'll probably cost me a lot to buy but I think it's worth it.

Aww bless your Dad! He'll always be a fireman in your heart! :)

Oh definitely needing a special gift for him then. And it'll be worth every penny I am sure.

POOR YOU having to go to that party...I have *no idea* how you will cope. :D

well today was the first (and likely the last) time I get the bus stright to tesco from work to save a bit of money. First the bus took an HOUR! I could have driven to my mum's house near dundee in less time! Didn't help that it went in a big circle at one point to bypass the hospital.

did the fastest shop ever in and out in 20mins! Then I'm sat outside for 25 mins waiting on a bus that 'see's you every 15 mins'..........hmmmm bs mr firstbusman. Luckily the second bus I need to get was just a minute after I got to the stop but as it was I didn't get home till justs after 7, in the horrible scottish drizzle, tired, hungry and dying for a peeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

while my cheese n ham toasties were cooking (when your that hungry nutrition goes out the window) I chucked the pork and chicken for tomorrows dinner into tubs with lemon juice and spices. still need to hoover but 8pm seems awful late to be starting a noisy job like that but the other option is to leave the house a mess for my visitors. argh

today is a stressful day. (oh and my bus this morning was half an hour late so I was late for work  I now no longer care about the environment, I'm going to pass my test and get a big fat gas guzzling car and get to work in time and in comfort!!!)
