 what kind of expensive pubs you planning on taking us to? 56p vodka and mixer up here on wednesday night, I could get plastered on £4.75 (don't forget the 5p bacs fee)

I was basing it on the expected rate of inflation in the years between now and my debt free date!

Several budgets means that the chancellor will have put booze prices up significantly by then.....

That implies a mind sharp enough to be dulled...

well if last nights drunken misery served a purpose it was to bring on an epiphany...

I realised last night that I had lost sight of where I am in life and where I'm going. OK I never knew the final destination but at least I was in control of the journey even if in small stages. Recently I've been totally lost, drifting in the current with no idea of whats going on. Well it's time that stopped. I've allowed others to come into my world and confuse and hurt me, no more.

So today I woke up with a new purpose, a way forward and once again forward motion is resumed in my life! I think at the start of the year I was trying to do too much, fix everything at the same time and thats never gonna work....what was I thinking

So now I'm going to concentrate my efforts on one or two parts at a time. I guess it's like clearing debts, if you split your resources between all your debts it doesn't seem to go far and they take a long time to achieve anything, but if you throw all your stuff at one or two it makes a more noticable difference.

For me I have my college exams in a few weeks and am in the process of remortgaging (yes I started before xmas!) so thats where my main resources are going. Tomorrow I'm taking my forms to the solicitor and all I should have to do after that is sign the final forms then receive the money :D I have made a decision regarding that and I'm sure it wont' be popular on here but...

I've decided to use part of the cash to clear my cc. I know it's not the best idea, and it was certainly not the intention behind releasing part of the equity (circa 5k). As my debt is just under the 2k mark I'll still have 3k left for my central heating and that will be getting added to from the savings I'll start once I'm not paying off debts.

My spare time between now and the exams will be spent concentrating on studying and getting a good mark or at least keeping the pass rate I've achieved so far. If I can stick to this then hopefully by the end of May I'll haev completed my studies and be debt free.

Once this has been achieved I can then start getting into the gym and getting my body sorted out as I'll have a lot more free time and I can make ends on getting the finishing touches completed on my flat. I'll then have four months to finish these things before my previous deadline of october.

So basically by my 26th birthday I'll be debt free, have my higher english (and a route into teaching if i so choose), have my flat finished and be my target weight and fitness. Without all the stress I've been putting myself under this past few months.

phew just thinking/typing all that was a tough job :rotfl:

Now for those who managed to read through all that, you got nothing better to do? ;) I dont' really expect much feedback on this, it's more a case of putting it down in writing to clear my thoughts up. Well its done now.

Like I say tomo I'm off to the solicitors, then I'm coming home to spend at least four hours doing college work. Here goes everything....

Aww :grouphug: there's no reason to be miserable round us lot. There's always someone mad enough to bring a smile to your face. And there's certainly no reason to use hard words such as "epiphany".

It's only a bad idea, when you spend like you did before and don't change your ways - it is a consolidation loan in disguise. You are going to be a prudent spender now aren't you? Are you going to cut up your cards?

And if you don't choose - what are you going to do with your qualification?

Nope, but I'm a fast reader which helps.

Well good luck, as they say. And remember to monitor your progress carefully - wouldn't want you wandering off now that you've decided on a path forward.
