Leaving Pipex?

I have had the letter too.
I am not surprised as I feel that Pipex is now really only interested in Business Broadband, not domestic, as they are now part of Tiscali.
I am moving house this year, so will stick it out for a while, avoiding a new 12 month tie in.0 -
Yes I suppose they are aiming at businesses - but Tiscali have now been taken over by Talk Talk! So I am suprised that they are not trying to move people onto a good deal to keep them within the company!0

I left Pipex about 5 years ago and it was bad then. How come they've still go customers? I thought everyone would have left by now.I went away and now I'm back.:j:j0

Maybe broaden your thinking to believe that no everyone in life has exactly the same life experiences as yourself?!
I've not got my MAC code yet - clearly everyone else will be in the same position...0 -
Hi guys,
I too left Pipex because of the cheeky letter! I called Customer Services, they said they couldn't give me a MAC code as I had to speak to cancellations team first...I hung up, rang back and said I had spoken to cancellations (lie) and that meant Customer Services had to give it to me as it was my 2nd request (which technically it was, only twice to customer services and not to the cancellations team at all).
Does everyone have the free phone number too? 0800 912 16490 -

I got the Letter saying they are putting me on 8mb broadband for £18.99 - this includes line rental- however I am on FREE broadband for Life !!!!! YES FREE BROADBAND FOR LIFE- some 2 years ago i got a phone call offereing me FREE broadband for life if I moved from ORANGE- I was already on Pipex for phone- this was a nobrainer as Orange were rubbish anyway- I have been very happy with this getting 6mb speed , and good service except sometimes at busy periods-
Does anyone know if there is a way I can make them honour this pachage they gave me for life!! I suspect not??
Also who is the best to change to ?0 -
Anyone on Orangemax- £6.99 ( if you have orange phone) 20mb - and what speed can you get0

Finally got an automated call this morning (Saturday @9:30!) telling me my MAC code and that there would be a letter coming...Asked yesterday morning. Nothing yet.
So that is exactly the '5 days' they said it would take for me to get it - almost to the hour! I wonder if they holding on to customers as long as they can or it is that they are overworked getting these things out?0
