I requested my MAC from Pipex on Monday at 4:30pm, and got it today (Wednesday) at 1:00pm by text and auto-phone message.
    Nice to save.
  • My Mac came today by post, requested on Monday. No new deal sorted yet.

Take a look at IDNet, an excellent small ISP like Newnet, I have been with them for over 3 years.

They have from 1st February doubled their limits, 30 day contract, excellent support, no throttling.

Thanks, I'll have a look at that.

I was on a 2Gb limit with Pipex, but didn't realise I used in excess of that as they never charged me for going over the limit in the 8 years I was with them and I didn't have a bandwidth meter until I decided to move.

I have been considering moving to Be Value, but can't do that until my exchange is ADSL2+ enabled which is due to happen by 30 March 2010. Nice to have another option, especially one without a 12 month contract.

Luci & Rafter, can I ask your reasons for looking at Be Value rather than O2 Standard? I've been trying to decide between the 2 myself. The upside of O2 for me is larger cashback, the downside is the O2 mobile side of things to get the same price.

    Cheers!
    Nice to save.
  • Oh poo! We can't get BE Broadband.

My reason is the downside you have stated, I dont use a mobile phone so works out better for me to go with Be Value.

The reason I wouldn't go for O2 is that I've have read numerous times that O2 Access is pants and there are no LLU providers at my exchange.

I only changed to NewNet in December, but I'm struggling to stay under 3GB a month. Otherwise I like them.

BE Value would be almost half the price with a 40GB limit if I could get ADSL2+ so I just hope the offer is still on once my exchange has been upgraded.

I'm quite shocked at Pipex I just rang up to get my MAC code because they have hiked mine from £9.99 to £18.98 (I got one of the letters!) for broadband and anytime calls - having been with them for about 4 years they never even bothered to try and offer me a better deal?? So I'm like right I'm off then! :rotfl:

I'm guessing they are going to be losing a lot of customers! Unless people just put up with it? Not Mser's!! :money:
