  • PLMBL, I'm really sorry to hear your news.

It really sucks that you have to go through 3 mc's in a row before they'll start taking it all seriously.

Hope you get some answers x

Hi everyone, I'm back again :(.

Found out yesterday that I've lost twins at 12 weeks. This is my 3rd consecutive mc and 4 babies lost in total.

The consultant has recommended medical management this time because of the complications I had with the ERPC last time and I have to go into hospital at 8am tomorrow. They are going to give me 3 tablets every 4 hours and can repeat that up to 4 times if necessary. It's going to be a long day :(.

I'm sorry that so many people are still needing to use this thread, it's all just so cruel Xx

    So sorry.
It's all such a hideous experience.
Hope all goes as well as possible tmw.

I am sorry for your loss again PLMBL.

Do you know what kind of tests they will do for you? Is it into clotting? I have heard they can look into that sometimes.

    Lara- How are you?

AFM - feeling really low today. I know its choice and everyone has their reasons but I went out with one of my best friends and a girl who I didn't know and it transpired she had an abortion recently. I felt crushed. Like I had been winded.

    Hi Samtoby

Thanks for asking for me. I'm okay, just getting ready to start work again. I have a giant deadline in 10 weeks so will need to eat, sleep, work until then. I took a bit longer than anticipated off because of getting sick a lot since the mc, I think my immune system is a bit affected. I am anxious about bringing this giant 4 year project to a close. It is a huge challenge for me so I hope to do it justice.

Everyday life is okay, just a bit sad. I guess I thought I would have dealt with things a bit more, but I still think about the pregnancy all the time. CD1 is coming tomorrow so that will be quite weird. I understand why you were so upset last night, it's hard to hear. Hoping that there are lovely children in all our futures. It is hard to wait though!

    How are you doing otherwise?

  • Thank you for your kind words everyone.

Samtoby I understand your feelings re the girl and her abortion entirely. Last time, 3 weeks after my ERPC, I was sat waiting to be seen in hospital (a lump of tissue had literally fallen out of me at home) and there was a woman screaming in the next room while her bloke shouted at the nurses about how carp they all were. Turns out she was in for an abortion and I honestly wanted to hit them both (I am NOT a violent person!!). The only way I could get my head round it was to think that the baby had actually had a lucky escape not to have them for parents :(. It really upset me though that I had lost my much wanted baby and they were 'getting rid' of theirs.

Lara, there are no set rules on how and when to 'deal with' your mc. Give yourself time. Big hugs Xx

PLBMB- I just found it like a kick in the teeth good job I had not been drinking alcohol, I am quite tempered and it would have ended in a brawl. Good luck tomorrow.

Lara - Good luck with your deadline, I hope you get done what you need to. Are you actively trying again or waiting for that to finish then trying?

    Hugs to all xx

  • samtoby, you were asking about tests.

I have had thyroid function, blood clotting, prolcatin levels, karyotyping (chromasones, both me and OH) and swabs for all sorts of infections carried out as part of my recurrent mc investigations.

Everything has come back ok, although I am now waiting on a colposcopy after bleeding during sex- unrelated to the recurrent mc investigations.

The only other thing I would like to be tested for is celiacs, my mum has just been diagnosed, and I have had similar symptoms for years, with a diagnosis of IBS. apparently unmanaged celiacs can cause mc.

When I get the all clear from colposcopy (fingers crossed please), I have a treatment plan for when I get pregnant again, of aspirin, progesterone supplements and metronidazole (for bacterial infection down there), to try and cover all bases if you like.

Samtoby, I am not sure when we will try again. Definitely this month is out as I need some healing time. Hope things go super quickly for you though :)

Hope you can get the coeliac test soon Any Name

    Hugs to all xx
