i spoke to them on friday and they only take refferals from gps, why i don't know! i have my booking in on monday so i am going to tell them about the bleeding then and hopefully get a scan

GG, when I asked my midwife what to do if I started bleeding, she said you could be referred to EPU either through GP or casualty. So if it happens at the weekend or your GP is really slow for getting back to you, or you just want to get their quickly, you can try casualty. Once your at the hospital I doubt they'd turn you away.

Thank you I think if it got heavier I'd go to a&e. weekend is just the worst time because my husband works all weekend and we'd have to take our son with us as we have nobody who could watch him. I do not want him to know about this baby unless all is ok. Last time I made the mistake of telling him and he was heartbroken when we lost the baby. He still talks about it now

Hi GG,
I'm stuck in limbo too! Scan on Monday, and on and off bleeding all week. No more bright red, but small brown on pad :-(
No pg symptoms. It seems to have slowed down yesterday, & today. Would I have noticed the actual miscarriage at 5/6 weeks?
I know the 10week one could never have been missed, i had a mini labour for an hour or so!
Not really got pains, just tummy ache.
Wish i could take something or do something to help!
If i have mc I'm going to demand medicines etc for future pgs! I dont believe its just genetic problems when my body was trying to get rid of my son and he is perfectly healthy! My body just doesnt want to hold them in there! :-(

Sucks to be in limbo I know. You would definetly notice a mc at 5/6 weeks so please try not to worry. It's good news the blood is brown and very light. I hope your scan has good news on Monday. I am taking baby aspirin to help too as I've read a lot of research that believes most people miscarraige from a simple clotting issue. It's annoying drs don't take us more seriously and give us medication to spare us ever going through this a second time never mind more xx

Hello MSM,

I have no answers to your questions, I'm afraid - everyone's experience seems to be different and there are no hard and fast rules.
A friend of mine had m/c symptoms at about 5 or 6 weeks, and she asked her sister who was a midwife for advice - the only advice was, you'll have to wait and see. Eventually, time will tell one way or the other.

It seems to me that although early pregnancy tests can be really useful, they also mean we know we're pregnant a lot sooner and that can add hugely to stress levels...it means it takes even longer from knowing about the pregnancy to getting a scan.

I hope you are managing to get through the hours ok - it is literally a case of waiting it out unless you need to go to A&E.

Can you buy baby asprin from a supermarket?
Its so crappy waiting. I'm running round after a toddler, and lifting & carrying him. It cant do me any good, but i'm not going to neglect him on the small chance something is still growing in there. If i knew for sure it would be easier to justify it!
Still in bed today, using it as an excuse! It works both ways!
Wish i'd kicked up a fuss to have a scan on Fri!

Yes you can I bought mine from sainsburys although think it was in the pharmacy xx

MSM it's aspirin which is in 75mg, over here it's packaged for heart problems as it's also meant to reduce the risk of strokes baby aspirin is what Americans call it from what I've seen online

My baby had died at 5.5 weeks and whilst at the time I wasn't sure if it had passed, it was a large clot around the size of a 50 pence piece accompanied by a lot of bleeding- i had to stay on the loo for half an hour. So I'm sure you will notice if anything had happened.

More brown this afternoon & twinges. Finally got my fat !!! out of bed & i'm now on the sofa eating my weight in junk food! No motivation for the fresh fruit & carrot sticks of last weekend!
I'm really hoping OH comes with me Mon, he has work and thats why he missed all my scans with the mc, the weekly/fortnightly ones with threatened mc, and even the happy ones where i got to find out sex etc. had to do all those alone,, its so hard when you just need someone to hold you,either while you fall apart, or to share the happiness! I still dont have friends or family near by ( still as in i havent bothered making friends!!) so most likely just me.
Might start hinting tomorrow, see if it gets me anywhere!
