I recently had an early miscarriage and was told to wait until after next period.

Also brunettegirl, I realise it may well not be something you want to think about at the moment but if you decided at any time in the future that you wanted to complain about your hospital treatment then I would be willing to help you with writing a letter. I've done a couple for myself and helped a number of others too. Usually you have a time limit of a year but this can be extended in certain circumstances such as if you are dealing with bereavement or trauma which I think would apply in your case - I have just put a complaint in about treatment I received in December 2010 and it has been allowed on that basis. (I finally did it because I realised that I needed to put in a complaint as part of recovering from the experience.)

thank you. I have actually just finished writing my letter which is almost 4 pages long. I have a friend who is going to go through the letter with me over the weekend.

thank you ladies for your kind words, my head is indeed all over the place and sadly it is causing a problem with my 2.5yr old who doesn't understand what is wrong with me and is playing up to get more of my attention, which i am not handling in the best way as my patience seems to of taken a holiday, consequently he doesn't want my company only his dad, so i am not dealing with his rejection very weel. I am aware that he is picking up on my weird vibes but its not making it any easier.

I was really hoping to have pulled everything. together before xmas, i feel like i am rubbish really people go through much worse things and get on with stuff . xxx

It doesn't matter if other peoPle go through much worse things (and I don't think you can really be comparative with grief/trauma type things), what you have been through is pretty awful and I think it is normal and natural to be finding it hard. You are not rubbish - these things take time. If I could go back and give myself some advice it would be not to expect so much of myself in terms of thinking I "should" be "better" within a set timeframe. And I'm glad you've been able to write a complain and have a supportive friend to help - I hope doing that helps.

Big hugs to you both x x x. I never cease to be amazed how insensitive hospital staff can be. It's so sad they can't have some compassion.

Brunettegirl there is no ownership of grief don't feel that you have to pull it together quickly. It isn't a quick process.

With regards to trying again. Our GP told us to wait before trying again which I really didn't want to do. Our Consultant said that we can try again straight away, If my body can get pregnant then it is ready, the first period is purely for dating.

We were lucky and got pregnant again 6 weeks later however my body really felt it and at 16 weeks I was on crutches unable to walk due to the two pregnancies close together and my bodies depleted sources. However saying this, I would do the same all over again.
