Tink that bleeding sounds normal to me. I usually bleed for two to three weeks like a heavy period with clots. Sounds normal for a natural mc. Sorry if this is tmi, I miscarried at 7 weeks on a Sunday in August, had stopped bleeding by the following Thursday, then a month later had a period which went on for about a month (on/off and heavy/light), one of the mornings I woke up and had saturated my side of the bed (sorry), plus there was a smell coming from me for a few days....eek! I washed about 5 times a day...I went to NHS walk in near my work and there was the most unfriendly nurse in the triage who took offence when I asked for the man who was also in the room (he was a medical student) to leave the room (I was embarrassed about the smell) then she told me that they couldn't help me there, I would need to go to A&E, I ended up leaving and crying in the rain and went home....I finally got to go to my GP last Friday and have been given antibiotics.
My stomach was quite bloated and painful for a few days before that.
The bloating seems to be going down now thankfully.
I didn't have any check up after the miscarriage so don't know if anything was left behind.
I've asked GP to refer me to gynae (I've got private medical insurance through work) to see about the fibroid.
Embarrasingly I printed off the email from medical health insurance with the claim number and left it on the printer for all to see! It said "sorry for your loss" so I guess the bosses will have worked out what's happened to me eh!
I met a friend on Saturday who's same age as me (38) and she was told 10 years ago she couldn't have children (I didn't ask for too many details).
She had a few miscarriages in the last 10 years, but just when she decided to change her career and started the PGCE (to become a primary school teacher) she discovered she was pregnant, a total surprise, she now has a 5 month old...kinda gives me hope though of course it's different for everyone.0 -
Oh bless you Jox, you poor thing ((hugs)), what a biatch of a nurse at your walk in centre! You should have complained about her, it makes me sick that so called 'caring profession' people can treat you like that and make you feel so lousy. You had every right to ask for the student to leave the room too.
It sounds like you did have a bit of an infection after your mc, maybe something left behind. To be honest you should have been scanned to make sure everything had gone. I was after my first mc.
Hope you are better now. Good news about your friend too..it gives us all hopeMetranil dreams of becoming a neon,You don't even take him seriously,How am I going to get to heaven?,When I'm just balanced so precariously..0 -
Hello ladies, I think its sadly time for me to join you here as our scan today confirmed the baby has died, I'm finding it very hard to get my head around as we had seen a strong heartbeat at 7 weeks, I'm not sure why I'm not getting a happy scan picture to show off like everyone else.
This is my third miscarriage this year and I'm not sure my heart can take much more, I really thought this would be our time.
I'm so sorry for anyone else who finds they need to post here x0 -
sorry there are so many people going through losses at this time. well at any time.
I am feeling ok at the moment, the weekend away went well and was a lovely distraction. My OH is taking it really hard at the moment he tried to talk to his work councillor today but they didn't get back to him so will try again tomorrow. He says that it isn't that he doesn't want to talk to me about it he just can't. I understand and just hope the councillor can help. We have our next joint counselling session on the 5th so will see how we are then.
Thank you all for your kind works, it really means a lot to us both. We had surprising little contact from friends in RL which I think is what is upsetting OH.

Lemon, I am so sorry.
I keep thinking of you - wish there was something I could say or do to help. I guess you will be numb and in shock at the mo.
Kitten, hope the counselling is some help. I think in RL people avoid you as they simply don't know what to say and are worried about making things worse or saying the wrong thing. I would have probably been an avoider prior to my lossI am often clumsy with my words, and over emotional so I would have ended up crying and looking daft and probably not helping at all. Even now, I worry that I will say something insensitive or put my foot in it
