I just keep asking myself how I managed to have my son who is (in my eyes) the most perfect child. I had a really straightforward pregnancy, no complications other than an assisted delivery.
But now I seem to be coming up against a brick wall every time we conceive.
Maybe what you say above is what is happening to me too. Like you I've had one mc at 9 weeks and now 2 Chemicals in a row.
MV, my story is similar.
PG 1 - mmc, baby died 7 weeks
PG 2 - straightforward uncomplicated pregnancy resulting in healthy baby at term and a home birth.
PG 3 - mc at 6 weeks
PG 4 - mmc at 13 weeks, baby died at 11
PG 5 - mc at 4 weeks (a chemical I guess but I hate that term)
PG 6 - mc at 10 weeks
But I now know I have a genetic blood clotting disorder called Factor V Leiden, and might also have another clotting issue called antiphospholipid syndrome.
My consultant said my DD is a 'miracle' and he has no idea how we had her with no problems.
The hard thing is that you have to have three in a row before anyone will do anything. I do remember with my last pregnancy thinking that at least I'd either have a baby or I'd get some help.
They refused to count my very early mc, so I had to have four in a row.
you could always go private? A friend of mine has all the costs for St Marys if it would help to know how much. I know the most expensive test is around £400, I only had three tests cos the NHS won;t do all of them, they cherry pick based on your history.

Skintchick I am also so sorry for all your losses. It really is horrific that you have to have had a certain quota before the NHS will take it seriously.
It is good to hear that at least you know now why you have been having so many problems, and I sincerely hope there is a treatment that can help you now?
I have emailed today a private clinic who specialise in miscarriage, and requested a call back from them. I am quite prepared to pay to have a consultation if I think it will help me. I spoke to a Dr from my practice yesterday, and although he was nice about it all, I got the impression that they really don't take this thing very seriously, and when I asked about testing he said there were blood tests available but they were for specific conditions which were rare (??).
He basically just told me that my age was probably a big factor in my problems, and that I should wait a cycle and then try again and if the same happened come back and speak to them. Brilliant.
If I can get a few more answers a bit more quickly than that by going private, I'm prepared to pay for it!Metranil dreams of becoming a neon,You don't even take him seriously,How am I going to get to heaven?,When I'm just balanced so precariously..0 -
THE conditions might be rare, but they are very common among women who have experienced multiple miscarriages, so kind of not rare at all!
FVL which I have affects five per cent of the caucasian population, so that might be rare, but lots of women who've had multiple mcs have it.
Yes, thankfully there is a treatment. When I get pregnant again I have to take 75 mg of aspirin a day, and inject myself with 20mg of herparin daily too. If I also have antiphospholipid syndrome then the aspirin dose rises to 75mg at 34 weeks.
So it's a very easy treatment.
I think seeking private help is a good thing to do. The NHS doesn;t do a thing till you've had 3 in a row, and in my experience that can end up with you in a very delicate mental state. For me, the fifth loss tipped me over the edge.
I'm now in counselling but having an answer and treatment has helped a lot and I feel a bit more sane now.
I hope you can get some answers too. Feel free to come post on the multiple miscarriages thread, I always hoped it work parallel to this one where people can post about treatments, experiences, etc. DFW Nerd Club member 023...DFD 9.2.2007 :heartpuls married 21 6 08 :A Angel babies' birth dates 3.10.08 * 4.3.11 * 11.11.11 * 17.3.12 * 2.7.12 :heart2: My live baby's birth date 22 7 09 :heart2: I'm due another baby at the end of July 2014! :j

Ok so now on Day 11 of Bleeding since my MC & hospital admission .
How long do you normally bleed after a natural MC? It is really getting me down now?
Should I ring the ward? or see my GP?If you can think it........it will happen0 -
Tinks from memory I bled for about 14 days after my mc at 9 weeks.
Did you have any sort of proceedure whilst in hospital, an ERPC or anything? If not I would say maybe give it a few more days and then contact the hospital/GP.
Is it lightening up at all, or still as heavy?Metranil dreams of becoming a neon,You don't even take him seriously,How am I going to get to heaven?,When I'm just balanced so precariously..0 -

The only thing apart from lots of morphine in hospital was a internal to get out the biggest clots to try & stop the hemorraging as bleeding is nature's way of getting rid of things. That stopped the hemorraging but the bledding is like a very heavy AF with clots
:(
They weren't keen to do a D & C as I had a nasty reaction and fitted last time I had an operationIf you can think it........it will happen0 -
Maybe give it 2 or 3 more days and if it doesn't seem to be easing up, speak to your GP?
Mine is pretty clotty too, which is odd given I was only just 4 weeks along.
It's like a horrible, cruel joke isn't itMetranil dreams of becoming a neon,You don't even take him seriously,How am I going to get to heaven?,When I'm just balanced so precariously..0 -

I would give the epu a ring it sounds like you may still have leftover placenta to be bleeding so badly after 8 days0 -
I had a mc at about 8 or 9 weeks. I bled for about ten days and had an internal scan afterwards which confirmed I was back to "normal". The nurse also said she could see follicles on the right hand side, one of which should turn into an egg.
I am now about 7 weeks on from that and have not had another AF. Is this normal?
Thanks0 -
So just rang the Ward & spoke to a doctor she said if I am still bleeding in a couple of days to ring & I will be made an appointment for a scanIf you can think it........it will happen0
