Bleeding seems much lighter today, though much more painful, so I decided to cancel the ERPC in the hope this is almost over. I hope i don't come to regret this. OH is at work, and my older kids went back to school today, so it's just me and the baby (who will be 2 in 2 weeks at home today). Feel quite tearful and could really do with some adult company to be honest.

The real kicker is that the baby might have gone but my morning sickness hasn't, so I just feel horribly nauseous all the time, and a bit faint and giddy. I also didn't get a chance to ask all those questions about trying again, chances of it happening again, etc because we weren't in a state to do so yesterday and now I've cancelled the ERPC we won't see a doctor again. :( Maybe I should have thought that through more. I just couldn't bear the idea of going back to the hospital again and having to go through things with a different set of nurses, anaesthetists etc when hopefully this will be over of it's own accord in a few more days.

None of this probably makes any sense. Sorry to go on. Can't really offload on the toddler though and need to get my smiley face back on for when DS gets home from school at 2.30. It was his first day at secondary school so he will be excited.

Nicki.. they usually say to wait until you have had one period but that is purely for dating purposes and doesnt make any actual difference to the outcome. Also it is no more or less likely to happen than it was this time.. about 1 : 3 odds

Thanks pigpen. Thought you might be around. I haven't even had the conversation with dh about whether we try again. This one wasn't planned but we were thrilled when we found out. But we don't conceive easily and although we were thrilled we were also a bit daunted by 4 (I know you laugh in the face of that :) ) so he may not want to. I just want to be pregnant again though.
  • Hope you're OK this evening Nicki, been thinking about you today xx

:grouphug: Feel free to talk away on here as much as you want to if it helps. As PP says, one miscarriage doesn't make a difference to your chances of a successful pregnancy but if you wanted to speak to a Dr about things, you should be able to either see someone back at the hospital or see your GP. I was told it's not necessary to wait before trying again (they go on the scans rather than your period anyway) but in retrospect I think waiting at least one month would have been sensible as it would have given an emotional break from it.

I suppose what worries me is that at my age the risk of miscarriage is so much higher anyway. I think around 50%? I subconsciously knew this when I got my BFP but was still surprised when it actually happened.

I guess it would be sensible to wait for one cycle for dating purposes but we find it hard to conceive at the best of times and aren't getting any younger. I have to confess I started taking a cocktail of supplements today, and bought some ov kits in the hope that we can start trying soon. I hope OH will be on board, we skirted round the issue last night a bit and I got the impression he will be, but it was too soon to have a long conversation about it. We are both too worried about upsetting the other I think.

With my first miscarriage I got PG straight away within 2 weeks of the bleeding ending, heard you are more fertle just after because of all the hormones so we just went for it. They used the last day of my miscarrriage bleeding as my LMP, and they can sort out dates when they scan you (there's no accurae way unless you know when you OVd anyway).

I have had two 'natural' miscarriages, and have found them to be very very painful. I got my GP to prescribe me some codeine for the last one as the first one was so bad, but I did find it a bit less. I wondered if that was because my first one I'd never given birth and the last one I had?

My first was at 6 weeks, my second at 10 weeks but baby only made it to 6 weeks, so maybe that made a difference too, I don't know.

I had to stay in bed for a few days both times, but perhaps I am a drama queen.

I am so sorry you are going through this, but if you feel you want to get pregnant, then just go ahead and have sex when the bleeding has stopped.

    huge hugs to you xxxx

Today, I've seen girl almost 10 years yunger then me, 8 months pregnant. Very happy and I was like I'm so happy for y0u. Of course. I came back home and cried. My DH had no idea how to behave. Am I a bad person for feeling like that ?!!! I'm 35 next month and my period started yesterday. I remember, when I miscarried last tmie, my hormone levels were over 3000, when I went to hospital and about 700 when I left, after. Does it mean, everything was fine with baby? I 've got doctor apointment on Monday, I'll see what can I do.
  • Amara, I always feel like that when I see heavily pregnant ladies, or when I see someone's scan picture :(

Not sure on hormone levels, best to check with your doctor xx
