Looks like we have all had a hard few days. I've about stalled but at least I haven't gained - yet.

Losing weight used to be so easy - 5lb a week if necessary no problems at all :o. I am really struggling this time around.

    Hi everyone,
Weigh in not until Friday but my belted smart dress for work (when I have to meet clients) felt a bit loose today so while I may not have lost much weight, I am definitely finding my clothes are not so tight.
Like the poster who said he or she ate a whole backet of biscuits, I used to binge eat: I would eat a whole big bar of chocolate or a packet of biscuits and then hide the wrapper at the bottom of the bin so OH wouldn´t realise what a pig I was. I felt guilty and really fat and ugly afterwards. I have now managed to condition myself not to binge and just allow myself a "normal" sized treat every now and again. I tell myself that I deserve a slimmer, healthier body and that is what I AM GOING TO ACHIEVE. It´s hard to stop binge eating but I think it is possible to condition yourself not to do it. The only way I am certain not to do it though is to hardly have anything sweet and high in calories at home. As another poster said though, if you do fall off the bandwagon, try and recognise this as a blip and then resolve to eat more healthily and moderately. Just because you have eaten half a packet doesn´t mean you might as well finish off the whole packet as the damage has already been done.
Lentil soup for tea. Don´t really fancy it that much but at least it is warm and filling.

fwiw, tara, you are often the smile in a bad day here, and have often cheered me up. :)
  • Argh after doing so well today I didn't have time for any dinner this evening so ended up picking up a mcdonalds and a boost on the way home. I didn't even enjoy it but was feeling a bit sick as I hadn't had much to eat today. (Normally save cals for evening meal) I ended up eating 1600 cals and doing zilch in the way of exercise darn it. I have my weigh in Friday and I read somewhere that it takes two days for any over indulgence to show on the scales.

    Perfect. :(

Still back on it tomorrow so rather than eat less I'll just do some more exercise. Think I'm in danger of leveling out if I don't start eating more.

On another note I'm actually finding it more difficult to stick to my diet while OH is away (only two weeks luckily) Does anyone else find it hard to cook for one and stick to a pattern? Any ideas for easy meals for one?

Snuggles I think being a single Mum to four is more exercise per day then I ever do in a gym!

I dont have anything else at all, no licks or anything all I have is exactly what I have said.....and the scarey part is I only eat that because I know I have to eat, I dont get hungary at all.

Meant to say as well I know what you mean about getting hungry. I hardly get hungry any more. I stick to my normal pattern (when OH is here) and I only eat because it's "time" too. The other day I made a pretty big dinner for myself and felt sick halfway through. That would never have happened before!

Also less and less I'm craving sweet things. When I first went on the diet I needed sugar badly-I think I was withdrawing from it. Today was the first time in ages I really fancied a chocolate bar so progress has been made!:p

Maybe it's because you are eating a healthy (IMVHO) diet that's why you don't feel hungry? You are giving your body what it wants?

The contrary...my DH is away four nights a week and it helps me. I eat the same stuff often through the week, and get variety at the weekend with him.

Poached eggs on spinach or a crumpet. Baked potato. soups. steamed veg (e.g.broccoli with oyster sauce) stuffed veg ..tomato, pepper, marrow or aubergine...crudite, or raw fruit plates (never enough to satisfy a bloke often perfect for me at night time). :)

I dont crave sweet things hardly at all now, and I feel so much better for cutting wheat totally out of my diet. I have a new energy and things just dont seem so much of an effort anymore...well apart from eating lol

That is what lots of diet books say! Your body is asking you for nutrients and that's why you are constantly hungry etc... must cut out the sugar (that always helps me to feel less hungry).

Same here. I eat much less when I'm not dining with OH!!! :rotfl: Before living with him I used to eat very light dinners (as I'd have a decent lunch and always felt 'heavy' after a big dinner). Now... well, things are different. Likes most men, he expects a 'proper' man-sized dinner and is also a very good cook!
