Hello, I know I'm asking to join in late but can I?
During Jan I've lost 13lbs and maintained on Friday. I had vertigo for a couple of days (strangest thing!) so couldn't move and couldn't exercise so was happy with maintaining.

I want to lose 7 lbs by the end of Feb. Fingers crossed!

    Bangers & Beans Casserole recipe

    2 medium sized onions
    2 carrots
    2 sticks of celery
    8 small sausages
    2 tins drained haricot beans
    2 tins toms
    2 tablespoons tomato puree
    teaspoon dried mixed herbs
    salt & pepper
    1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
    1/2 teaspoon allspice

(I missed these last two out as we didn't have them in the cupboard and the celery as we don't like it and it tasted fine without them :) )

Heat the oven to Gas Mark 4/ 350 degrees F/ 180 degrees C
Peel and chop the onion, carrot and celery and cook until softened
Gently brown the sausages in a pan
Get an overproof casserole dish and add the cooked veg, sausages, tinned beans and tomatoes, puree and seasoning. Stir it all up, cover the dish and whack it in the oven for 30 minutes.

Dead easy to make and very tasty.

PS Here's the cake recipe I used lots more tea though (ripped open 3 teabags). I'm sure it could be made healthier with much less sugar/sweetener instead.

I've just calculated it (well, a program on the internet did) as 160kcal a muffin so i'm still eating the lefovers this week :)

    That recipe looks fab, thanks!!!
LOL at your wagon analogy!!! :rotfl:

    Hi Tara

not sure about uploading it your ipod but I certainly copied on to my MP3 player. I didn't put it on my ipod incase I went into a trance when I was out and about lol. I just put the CD in the disc drive and copied it using windows then dragged and dropped onto my MP3 player. Worked no problem. I suppose you could copy it onto your computer then upload it to itunes and then load from there onto your ipod - might work I know I have copied songs from CD's that I wanted onto my ipod that way so it sould be okay.

Thanks, will give it a go. :T
I did actually end up having lunch, some beautiful bread and cheese. Supper was some beautiful pate, a steak, (I didn't have the cheese, considering lunch) and a creme brulee (and wine, which is a break to my normal three month abstaining period at the beginning of the year usually). Then yesterday...a hotel breakfast (I ate well but not an obscene breakfast) and a cobbled together lunch of pate, crisps and a bit o chocolate. .

I am so jealous of your gourmet eating, yummers!

Oh, it was worth it :) I don't mind ''spending'' calories on great food, its eating stuff I only think is ok, that I resent calories going on.

the star though was the wine, I chose it :o and I was apprehensive as while I love wine and would like to know more, I'm not an expert. I bucked expectations and chose a Beaujolais..with trepidation- I was debating more expensive and ''safer''choices- that was so glorious I alsmost stood on the table and sung its praises with glee and making such an amazing choice. DH is hoping to drive over to the vineyard in summer to buy a crate so impressed was he at my choice.:o:D

Well done you!!! :j And congrats to all the losers! Hugs to the gainers and STSers, we can do it!!!! And hello to the newbies! :)

    Hi everyone,
Not sure if any of you make this already, but orange flavoured jelly made with skimmed milk instead of water is nice and you can grate a bit of 70% cocoa dark chocolate on the top if you need a bit of a chocolate kick. Low calorie and quite filling if you eat it slowly with a teaspoon!

So anyway, I was 137lbs at today's WI, which is a 0.3lb gain. :( Urgh, I've only lost 1lb since the start of January.

I feel a bit down about it, but am actually feeling a tiny bit slimmer, so maybe it's new muscle ha! Anyway, will keep on going and hope for the best.

Sooo true, I agree! I only eat fattening stuff if it's 'worth' it too. I am quite fussy about my food and a bit of a gourmet. :)

What's the name of the Beaujolais?
