Hi Dragon:). Can I join again this month please? I did well (for me) in Jan and lost 6lbs :j. I'll tell you what, if I could do that every month and keep it off, I'd be over the moon. I'm starting Feb from today cos was at Slimming World this morning and got weighed in then. Was pretty gutted to find out that tinned pineapple is not free on SW - I've eaten at least 10 tins this week!!! Anyway, my starting weight is 13s 7.5 lbs. Good luck all.0

For lunchtime porridge can you make it and put it in a thermos flask? Might be a bit messy to clean out though.0

An acquaintance called in today. He said he'd been meaning to pop in for a week or so, having seen me out and a bout, noting the weight loss and presuming I was really ill again was dropping in to see if there was anything he could do to help, particularly knowing DH is away weekdays. I have never been so grateful to be singled out as potentially ill: if its all based on loss that I can live with.
It came at just the right time as I'm feeling low on body confidence, knowing I'm going to be under scrutiny in the next couple of days. So a big hip hip hooray to someone commenting.
I have been ravenous today as well (my own fault, especially after all our breakfast conversation yesterday...I didn't have any) so the compliment helped me nibble not wolf down my lunch.0 -

I totally agree LIR, a compliment goes along long way!!

well, you have lost an awful lot, perhaps your body needs a break? FWIW, consomme or marigold stock in a cup workswell for me as a cold feeding thing, and chicken soup full of veg is both comforting and studies suggest proper chicken soup really does helpFAiling that, milk chocolate is the worlds best throat soother.

My lunch barely touched the sides and it's a long long time till dinnertime
Oh well, I will be strong and not buy crap in the supermarket. And if I can be quick and organised this evening (ha! so much to do!) then I'll fit in a swim at 9-10pm as well.
lir - if men are noticing then that's a very good thing ( I don't think any of my male colleagues have even noticed that I've lost any weight but the girls are much more observant) And bless him, that's a very thoughtful thing to do. Are you off on your trip soon?
posh - did the package finally get to you?0 -

Actually a female friend commented at the weekend too. Weird thing is, in the main I'm wearing the same clothes (or identical ones a size smaller) and can't really tell all that much myself. I'm surprised people are noticing TBH: its a significant weight loss in lbs, but not in %!:o
Yes, Friday....friday, saturday, sunday......getting very edgey about appearance as a result.0 -
Helloo!! I'm a bit late but was hoping that I could be added to the challenge please :T:wave:
I have been struggling for a long time to lose a bit of weight and managed to lose 2 stone a couple of years ago. I've got 1 stone to go, but I'm stuck at my current weight and have been for a whileplus I'm still technically 'overweight' BMI wise.
So if I can get halfway to that target in February I'll be ecstatic0 -
Hello all, I've been doing ok, went for a nice long walk last night so that's about 2hrs 45 mins walking. Tday will only be about an hour (to and from work) as I am having a chill-out evening with OH... and it's snowing!!! I'm giving myself the night off lol. I've been eating a bit less too, still giving into sweet cravings occasionally though.lostinrates wrote: »re breakfast cereal: I've always thought it was a swizz for calories: I find commercial cereal actually seems to be enough to act as an appetiser without being very filling...so it actually makes me hungry when I wouldn't normally be even if I hadn't eaten anything! Porridge is a winner, or egg on toast or spinach: frankly I even find a banana better. Another winner for me is trying to get at least one of my five a day in at breakfast time. I love grapefruit& orange juice, but fr me its a bit like cereal, too many calories for the satisfaction. And I can find citrus fruit a bit...aggressive first thing in the morning BUT I have found that tinned mixed grapefruit and orange segments in juice (I think thats 65 cals per half can?) hits a spot for me. It is bulkier than cereal, its fresh, its quicker to prepare than raw fruit. Some fibre rish cereal can be added if required, and some how a desert spoon to make a sort of light breakfast crumble is more satisfying than 30g in a bowl with milk....
Gosh, that sounds yummy!!!!!
I tend to agree. I have porridge ( well ready brek cos it's quicker) each morning and I can generally last quite happily til lunchtime. If I have toast or cereal I'm looking for something to eat by 11.00.
If there was a microwave at the office I'd probbaly have it for lunch too - I'm generally starving by the time I get home. There are no cooking or even reheating facilities here so I'm very limited in my lunch choices.
Could you make it and bring it in a flask?
Edit: oops, posted before reading as far as xxxvickixxx's suggestion!I'm on a double porridge day today. Don't have the time to make it from scratch at work but the Oatso Simple packets are a godsend and really yummy.
I find sultana bran nice and filling but I don't really bother with other breakfast cereals. Porridge or toast does me nicely and if I'm honest, I don't find much difference in my hunger levels if I have one or the other. But then I can generally plod along quite happily till lunchtime without breakfast anyway. It's the late afternoon when fullness from lunch has worn off and I know I've got to go home and cook from scratch that I get starving.
How can you go without breakfast? I'd faint! :eek:Get to 119lbs! 1/2/09: 135.6lbs 1/5/11: 145.8lbs 30/3/13 150lbs 22/2/14 137lbs 2/6/14 128lbs 29/8/14 124lbs 2/6/17 126lbs
