cally - sorry, I think I missed those posts. What is your website about - care of horses, retail, general horseyness ( can you tell I am out of my comfort zone here. They are the things with the long hair arent they?)

There was someone on here who declared very early on they were going to do a doggy website. Do horsey people like dogs too generally?

Think its a great idea and a good starting point.

so tenders to cally for linking into website - anyone start bidding at £1,000 ???? :rotfl:

Care of horses, exams with horses, teaching people to ride, news about horses, articles about various horsey things and some non-horsey, horsey things for sale, horses for sale, non-horsey things for sale ... forum = horsey area, non-horsey area etc etc .. the list could go on

Morning !!!!!

My advice for today would be for people to browse through the whole of MSE. There are some fantastic forums, lots of advice and some interesting [STRIKE]arguments[/STRIKE] disagreements. I spoke to some long time MSErs on facebook last night and they didnt even know there was a debt free wannabee forum.

Competitions, low spend freebies, no spend freebies, heads up on Tesco misprices, sale items that are gonna sell out fast, techincal advise, old style cooking and cleaning to help people save pennies, relationship advice, wedding advice, ideas for jobs and extra income, mortgage deals, gas and electric deals....... the list goes on.

So if you are at work, or watching This Morning (not me, honest, although Densie looks lovely today) then grab a cuppa and have a magical mystery tour through MSE - be prepared to laugh, cry, gasp and furiously scribble things down.

If you spend one hour reading through, and get one idea or learn one new thing, then life has gotta be good.

**** ONLY RULE IS YOU HAVE TO COME BACK - DONT FIND A BETTER HOME ON MSE AND LEAVE US *******

Old Style all the way :D you'll never waste another penny! Or the littlest bit of leftovers. I love Zoegirl's signature- 'Use it up, wear it out, make it do or do without'- says it all really. I've been gradually moving through the different boards but need to look at the ones I've not tried yet, bound to be loads of stuff I wasn't aware of...I'm determined to be a moneysaving genius! :T
I have come here to chew bubblegum and kick @ss.... and I'm all out of bubblegum.

First post contains a list of names of everyone who has posted on here, in order.

If they have declared their reasons, it has been added. If they have delcared their business it has been added.

If you want me to add info, let me know
If you want me to remove info, let me know
If you want me to remove your name, let me know
If you want me to add your name, let me know
If I dont hear from anyone within a week, I will remove their name under the assumption they dont want to 'go public'

I would like to apologise for the typing in all my posts. My biggest pet hate is bad spelling. Oh, and grammar. Now I often type with one hand due to a small baby taking up the other arm, so punctuation seems to have gone out the window. And I split a drink on the laptop keyboard so the buttons are sticky, so I seem to be a bad speller now !

And how we developed a community that was friendly and supported each other all the way! Maybe we should suggest to the bosses setting out a list of whos doing what so we are not treading on each others toes? or if someone has a particular kill in that area then they can offer help to someone venturing into that field? I dunno could go good or bad, but the innocent side of me wants it to be used for only positive growth!

well said Whitewillow.... oh, and bl@@dy good brainstorming last night!!

I have updated my listings on hotfrog and tweeted and facebooked :-) Going to look into gumtree later.
Then i will tweak a couple of my ebay listings as they need a bit more ooomph! QUOTE]

Mabel, have you got a facebook group?? Let me have the details and I will join, maybe that will get a bit more advertising done locally.... Have you approached the journal?? Ask them if they will do a give away with an editorial for you, get included in their wedding pull out thingy that they do sometimes.....

MMTWGR - I've suggested twice that I'll willingly link up to people's blogs and websites with my own (about horses) but I guess folk just want to link to like minded websites

I want you Cally!! Just haven't got a website set up yet!!!
I don't drive unfortunately, so no back of car sales. Would I need a license/ permit for a stall in the student union?

Drinkupretty, not sure about the licence but contact NMTF as they do free PL insurance when you join

I noticed you said you going to be selling goth clothes and acessories...might be a little competition from me then!! I;m noit going down the clothes route but body jewellery and accessories. I have a few suppliers details for clothes and this link might be of use to you....

well.... what have I found this morning...... a split in the ranks! I can't say I'm surprised though. No offence to Bingo (thanks for the 1st thread and all that!) but I feel (maybe cos I is a girl) that all this chat is relationship building and helps to encourage and motivate me for one.

I might not post all the time but I do read and try to help where I can.

Right, now then can anyone help me??? I need to get my business running but I have next to no capital, I have some bits on ebay that are slowly selling but not as quick as I like. Do I cut the prices and profit and use this to reinvest? Leave them to run and 'borrow' some money from savings? I have listed some of my tat on ebay but I feel I need to get started now on my business not wait to sell all my tat (which I will do anyway!!). Carboot season hasn't started here yet, and OH annouced last night that he might be going to the middle east for a few weeks at a time over the next six months so I shall be a single parent!

I suppose that I am a bit frustrated as I can see this business working. I know there is a lot of competition but I have seen ways that I can make myself stand out (on ebay to start with!).

On another topic, I think the list of what everyone is doing (but a secret list, by pm maybe???) would be a good idea. I think it might be a good idea to keep it secret as MSE has such a high ranking on google that we don['t want others stealing our hard thought of ideas!

Thank you money for the new thread, its taken me ages to read up on it all!

Maybe twelve or so of us should write a book at the end of our challenge -detailing how we made our money, a journal of all our ideas/ tips etc, what worked/ what didn't (googlies), who we met, trials and tribulations along the way...each having a chapter about our own progress. Would be good for different styles and approaches i.e. eBay, wedding stuff, crafts, socks...'We dribbled our way to 10K' - we could all dress up in the Arsenal strip (or just the socks!)
Just £10,852.28p to go...

:D
