My advice for today would be for people to browse through the whole of MSE. There are some fantastic forums, lots of advice and some interesting [STRIKE]arguments[/STRIKE] disagreements. I spoke to some people on facebook last night and they didnt even know there was a debt free wannabee forum.
Competitions, low spend freebies, no spend freebies, heads up on Tesco misprices, sale items that are gonna sell out fast, techincal advise, old style cooking and cleaning to help people save pennies, relationship advise, wedding advice, ideas for jobs and extra income, mortgage deals, gas and lectric deals....... the list goes on.
So if you are at work, or watching This Morning (not me, honest, although Densie looks lovely today) then grab a cuppa and have a magical mystery tour through MSE - be prepared to laugh, cry, gasp and furiously scribble things down.
If you spend one hour reading through, and get one idea or learn one new thing, then life has gotta be good.
**** ONLY RULE IS YOU HAVE TO COME BACK - DONT FIND A BETTER HOME ON MSE AND LEAVE US *******
The Christmas thread is really good too. Loads of arty people there with brillaint ideas for craft fairs etc if thats your thing. Also loads of ideas and tips for xmas deals etc. I was addicted to the hamper thread lat year, amazing how beautiful a hamper can look and cost under £10!! (And then put what you would of saved in to another account)
I can't remember where I read it but someone said
'if they pick up a carton of milk and the SEL stated 99p but when you get to the till it goes through at 79p then put the 20p in your savings or sealed tub. You were prepared to pay the 99p so you wont miss it"
After all it will adds up and you wont notice its gone. I do this and I have an SMA tin full of change. At the last count I was at £15 (since the challenge started)0 -
Munchki, I loved the e-mail, it showed a fighting spirit, but was still polite and respectful.
You'll do just fine, don't give up hope, keep battling on.
I had a Senior Management job, for one of the biggest companies in the world, and after redundancy started right from the bottom again, and I mean the bottom. But i've clawed my way back to self respect and I will have a very successful business by the end of this year. It takes time though, to get your self confidence and belief back.
Think outside the box, and go in through the back door and I promise you you'll be better off in the long run.I learned that courage was not the absence of fear, but the triumph over it. The brave man is not he who does not feel afraid, but he who conquers that fear.0 -

For exmaple, wedding jewellery could link into photo frames or handmade cards, favors, florists, wedding cars, photographers, portraits, cakes etc... and vice versa
Shall we try a list of who does what?
I quite like that idea :AOfficial DribblerThis is the year to #getfit0 -

hiya! I have been through about every door trying to get into any of them!! I am about out of steam and with around 700, yes I did say 700 CV's out there you would think something or someone would want me! I think I just snapped a little with the email back to them and doubt very seriously that I will hear anything back but at least I feel better as there is no one else that is going to stand up for me but me lol. Rang the other agency that wanted me to ring but the job I wanted is now under offer to someone else but they will look into things for me....beggers belief and I know how this one will go as well *sigh*
Something has to give and soon!I am somebody. I am me. I like being me. And I need nobody to make me somebody! Louis L'Amour0 -
Hi munchki,
This happened to me, but I had to start bringing in some money after JSA ended, so I took a cleaning job at a local accounts firm, a Lollypop job, delivering papers, Mystery shopping and ebayed, to pay the bills, and I also set up a small business for helping other small businesses recover debts and manage their accounts.
I now do the accounts for the company I cleaned for and the small business is beginning to take off.
My problem now is too many fingers in too many pies, but I am really enjoying myself. There may be a business opportunity in marketing other small businesses.
You will get there, just try a different approach.I learned that courage was not the absence of fear, but the triumph over it. The brave man is not he who does not feel afraid, but he who conquers that fear.0 -

I have set up my own small business doing sales and marketing etc which also includes other areas. What I really want to do is credit control and administration and event management out of it, but just cant seem to get any nibbles and it is not from lack of drive or initiation! I did manage a couple of large contracts last week which now have both come back and said on hold etc. very frustrating!! I so want to do the credit control side of things but for myself if that makes sense.I am somebody. I am me. I like being me. And I need nobody to make me somebody! Louis L'Amour0 -
That's what i'm finding there is a market for. I am just about to see a small business owner who has a £20,000.00 debt outstanding to him that I know I can recover.
There is definitely a market for this kind of service out there. Have you tried networking through Business Enterprise? I have found some good contacts through this avenue.I learned that courage was not the absence of fear, but the triumph over it. Can you believe the DVLA are marketing personalised number plates towards valentines day??
Happy Valentines Day Darling, I love you, have a number plate :rotfl:0 -
jo70 - I use Joomla, it is a pain at first but tis brilliant once you find your way around, SOBI2 would do half of what you want with basic and premium adverts, not sure of the full page ones though.
MMTWGR - I've suggested twice that I'll willingly link up to people's blogs and websites with my own (about horses) but I guess folk just want to link to like minded websites0
