Sorry-me again! I bought a job lot of kids racing car sets on ebay ...got 72 of the damn things and cant get shot of them! They will be going to carboot later in the year but would like to sell a few on Ebay -have tried selling singly and as a box of 12 but no joy-was thinking of perhaps doing a 3 for 2 type offer but dont know really. Any suggestions? They cost me 86p each-its like a tiny scalextric trype thing but doesnt need batteries.thanks for any ideas!I'm fed up of tripping over them in the bedroom!

They would be great in a party bag, that gets given away at the end, to the kids. Perhaps advert on supermarket board. Stick some other things from poundland in a bag and charge a 100% mark up.

If you do decide to take them to a carboot, how about putting them in a lucky dip with a few other similar bits and bobs you can collect in the meantime?

Another idea for everyone on here (sorry if its been mentioned before) if you have kids is a site called Netmums - its got free classifieds and even a freebie section and a wanted section so if you have any clutter from your kids it can be an easy way to get shot of things. I made £50 in a week on there, and all stuff sold within hours, you just register and select your local area to list the items, they also have a noticeboard with local fetes/bring and buy sales etc so you can keep your eye open for all those tabletop sales for all you crafty people out there! :) And theres a section for local services (all of this is free btw) so if you have a handyman husband, or you make cards, or offer an ironing service or what have you you can post there and people often post things like 'i need this done, anyone know anybody who could do it for me?' etc cake making too..the list goes on. Well worth taking a peek at!

Hi Dillidalli-that would be great-send me a PM when your site is up and running and I'll mention your blog on my site as well.

Am I right in saying that you dont book a stand at these fairs just go as a 'customer' and hand out some flyers? Do you get away with that?!
I'm on a couple of wedding blogs but nothing much-still learning about it really at the mo!

The way I am planning to do it, I will make a clean getaway. Basically, a few years ago I invested in some bluetooth software. It allows me to send bluetooth messages to anyone within an 100 metre radius. So, I am going to find a comfortable area - and basically send bluetooth flyers. I will also keep some portfolios handy to give out too. A quiet corner and a laptop - and I will be flyering in no time :). They can try and catch me lol

  • PHEW!!!! I decided to not turn on MSE last night as my OH went back to work (he works away) today for 2 weeks and I needed to spend a lovely night with him. Anyway...... after finally catching up on all the chat (which I love, incidently) I am exhausted!! What on earth??
I am just going to carry on reading this thread as it is obviously true that chatting gives each other ideas...Whitewillow is a great example!
My update is that I have 16 things listed on ebay, I decided to clear the house of anything I dont want/need anymore and then when I run out of things to sell, I will look at reinvesting any money I make to make a bigger profit.
I am also doing the free bingo every day.
So not much at the moment but every little helps, doesnt it?

    Quick question about websites.
Does anyone know a way of making a goodlooking directory style website thats quick and easy and doesn't involve paying a fortune.
Want to be be to offer a basic listing, a paid for premium listing and a have your own page on our site type thing.
Also want to be able to offer a choose which sort of listing you want and pay by paypal option and possibly the option of having space on premium listings to play and buy mp3 tracks.
Ok thats quite a Large ask but hoping there is a way somewhere out there.

I hope this is ok to post. It is a bit off the subject but as I am job hunting frantically and hae been for months I think I am starting to snap lol. I have just sent the following reply to someone who took less than 10 minutes from me sending my CV to their thanks but no thanks!!.. Please feel to delete the post if inappropriate. This is me just venting a little bit!! On another note, just had someone else ask me to ring them, so maybe all is not lost this morning!! heheh oh yes and the below job was for telemarketing, retail and B2B ..geeeeesh guess am too old for this now!

Thank you for getting back to me as it is much appreciated. I really only do have one question though if I may. Exactly how much additional Sales, Marketing and Customer Service skills are you looking for as if you read my CV you will see I have al of them. I have spent the past 2.5 years working for a Management Consultancy firm working entirely with Fortune 500+ companies, such as Geest, Greencore, Cadbury, Rolls Royce, Martin Baker Aircraft etc.

I worked in telemarketing, sales, administration and the rest. Before I came to the UK, I spent several years working in Sales both in retail and other working for companies like Gateway Computers, Revonet on behalf of Microsoft where I and my skills were eventually used for training new staff as what I do works. My employer Coriolis here in the UK advised that I have excellent negotiation skills and should run with them if given the opportunity. I also do bits and pieces of freelance sales and marketing across all sectors when I can find them.

I am finding myself more and more curious and more of a number than a real person these days and do actually find it quite ridiculous. I am incredibly passionate about work and dont believe in taking sickies (never have), have incredibly strong work ethics and do not under any circumstances play the game of jump the ship when something better comes a long.

I would appreciate it if you could please advise me exactly why I was not given any sort of consideration and what is wrong with my CV or what I should perhaps change about it as I would like to take the negative experience and turn it into something positive.

Thank you most kindly in advance.

    Kindest regards,
