  • Night Munchki!

WW that sounds fantastic! I'm considering expanding my online business, not that it's started yet...I used to make and sell photoframes etc, and I could incorporate that. No idea if it'd sell online, though, as I used to sell them in person.

If I can help in any way let me know...ohhh and let me have a peek at your website when you are finished!! What site are you using to make it?

  • Thanks for that Saucy, no doubt Ill be calling on help from here plenty of times before I actually get anywhere!
Im using wix.com, I find their free site builder so simple to use, and includes flash animation, and plenty of stock designs, aswell as being able to upload your own work should you wish to!
It only needs to be a simple site at the moment, just as a reference point, and me putting it together will also help to keep me focused while im waiting to get all of my euipment together.
Ive just done a check on ebay and I cant find anybody in the UK on there offering this, infact there is only one facemask with a design on it and thats a stock bought one and its £75 bin! All the rest are neoprene masks (like the wetsuit material) that are printed, not the full face hard masks that are almost essential for a lot of games. Looks like I may have found a niche! :)

You make and sell photoframes? wow, that sounds amazing! How about you offer your frames to people on this thread who do paintings, photography etc? where do you sell them?
Id definitly look at wix for a website! and for just over a tenner a month (its all in dollars so 19.99 usd) you can have an ecommerce package with them (but im just using free site and will put contact details for people to buy direct)

  • Ohh I love Wix, I've got a site there but as I said, nothing on it at the moment. I've got photos, OH is editing them for me now to make them a bit brighter. Hopefully I'll be able to make it live soon...I didn't know they did e commerce though, I'll go check it out. Thank you!

I haven't thought about it in a while, I've just had an email from the suppliers I used to use advertising their sale so it reminded me. They used to sell well, but I gave up when I did my A levels as there was so much work. I might give it a go tomorrow, and post here so people can tell me what they think.

I did have a look at masks on Ebay, I was shocked by the prices. There's no middle man! The market is completely yours, I expect you to make a killing, haha. You'll reach 10k in no time!

  • well lets hope so! Ill do my best! A friend of mine has a degree in graphic design too so i may call upon them for some design ideas and hints and tips.
As for your photoframes, im sur ethey will do well. It was only the other day I said to hubby 'that photframe shop has been there for years, you dont see them closing down very often' There are so many avenues aswell for you to go down, asking local photographers to display them for you, and they get a % of commission for sales, also hobbyists who need to display their work, you could even sell them as wedding gifts for people, nothing better than a hand made wedding present for the bride and groom!
I remember when I was in school, instead of buying xmas presents for each other, we used to buy a photoframe each then we would all team together and make a collage out of little bits and pieces that reminded us of that person, so the whole gang had got into making something that the one person could keep. We all worked together and we used to get one each from the rest of the group, the best presents we could have had and so cheap to make too!

  • Aww, that's such a cute idea! I went to an all girls grammar school, so we weren't allowed to give presents. Instead everyone got a piece of silver jewellery engraved with their name from the school, they were given out in assembly. It started with a ring in Yr7 and ended with a necklace in yr12. It was nice, I still have all of mine!

I'm excited now, I'm going to look at places I could approach tomorrow and get myself started up again. And order supplies, I've got a free next day delivery code so I should be able to get started before the adrenaline dies down. You are so inspiring, thank you!!

  • Please dont thank me, that what this thread is here for!
I think most of us have helped to inspire one person or another here with this challenge, and its still only January! Im so excited about what the rest of the year is gonna hold in store for us! I hope we're all still posting here come decembers final weigh in!
Can you imagine if we all managed to get our own little business of the ground this year in some shape or other! How massivly motivating would that be?? Amazing what you can achieve when you put your mind to it! If we do manage it I think we should all go on the tv together and tell the world how a few people got together and decided to change their lives forever! lol

  • We should. All the more chance for Fabregas to find me, haha! No that would be great, and to actually meet people we talk too so much would be brilliant too.

I love our thread :) I think it'll still be around in December, but we will all be much richer then and disappearing off for spa weekends etc....and last minute holidays to exotic places!

(You do deserve some thanks though, you are brilliant!)

  • Oh can you imagine? Lol I wish it could be that simple! But then again, stranger things have happened!
Maybe Alan Sugar will come looking for us to help him interview the next apprentice too! lol

  • Lol well if it doesn't happen, I'll have to revert back to the kidnapping plan :P
I'd love to be on the Apprentice. We could be guest judges, and get paid a few million for it...
This time next year we will all be successful enterpreneurs, and be talking on the news about how we made 10K in 12 months...

  • And how we developed a community that was friendly and supported each other all the way! Maybe we should suggest to the bosses setting out a list of whos doing what so we are not treading on each others toes? or if someone has a particular kill in that area then they can offer help to someone venturing into that field? I dunno could go good or bad, but the innocent side of me wants it to be used for only positive growth!
