No problem!Right...are you ready!?
I make wedding jewellery, have been doing it for a couple of years but set up my 'proper' website last year-have had a few sales through it. I sell my jewellery through a couple of local wedding shops, i have tried others but no go and I can't really go further afield as a lot of the time my pieces are made to order and involve meeting the brides etc, even simple stuff needs to come in various lengths..also its sterling silver so needs regular cleaning which I have found shops just dont do as they dont have time-therefore the jewelllery looks awful and doesnt sell.
Soooo am concentrating on the website at the mo. I have business cards flyers etc. I have tried twitter/facebook/hotfrog..am loooking at gumtree. Have had 4 adverts in a wedding mag with only one response so paid advertising is out for now. Budget is pretty much zero!
My ebay name is nothing to do with the jewellery but I have tried selling on Ebay with no success-it just doesnt fetch reasonable prices on there. I do put a flyer in when i send anything in the post though!
My website is in my profile if anyone wants a look.
Thanks MMTWGR :-)0 -

moneymabel - my style can be a bit in your face, so I wont be offended if you tell me to naff off, or if you want to play your cards close to your chest. Not a problem.
Not at all-just took me ages to type out the last reply!! i'm grateful for the help!0 -

ok this is probably going to sound very daft and very much way out there lol but have you considered instead of selling the jewellry on ebay that you sell a service on ebay instead...i.e. one to one design session with the bride and offer maybe to include a small inexpensive piece for the winner bidder when they attend. Again this may be way off but I have seen it work in other areas so why not this and once you have them in front of you you will be able to pull out all the stops to the gushing bride....dont know...just a thought reallyI am somebody. I am me. I like being me. And I need nobody to make me somebody! Louis L'Amour0 -
Oh-I also did a wedding fair last year but not very successful and I cant afford to do any at the mo :-/
Do like Dillidalli's idea of bluetoothing tho :-)0 -
just checked my amazon and found I have £24.58 funds so they have now paid me, not bad for first time, so added that to my signature total, about to go off to paypal see what is there from ebay sales....may have just sold my sofas too to a friend on facebook for £300 but as I have got a new one coming in a few weeks costing me 1k, don't suppose I can add the £300 really cos I am spending that again and more on a new one! Not sure whether to have a go on bingo site in case all goes pete tong, dont mind a bit of Mecca though dont win alot there either! Was in Mcd's yest and heard someone saying they had jsut won a few k in there.....unforunately I have no such luck!0

Think i'd be too scared to do that! my designs take a while to come up with, I dont think I could just come up with something face to face-too much of a chicken! Having anxiety issues doent help much with meeting people like that as well.
Please dont take my replies as being dismissive of your ideas everyone-there are some brilliant ideas there,I just need to be a bit careful of my health and deliberatly stressful situations are on the no list at the mo. I should be having counselling soon which will help with that. Just glad I did all the work approaching shops last year when i was 'ok'!!0 -

I can understand that lol, but if you were face to face with the client you would not have to come up with the idea, she would be able to work with and talk to you about what she wanted and was looking for thereby making it more personal and special and you would be able to design and create her thoughts.....if any of that makes sense that is. I think I know what I am trying to say in my head!!I am somebody. I am me. I like being me. And I need nobody to make me somebody! Louis L'Amour0 -
No that makes sense-its just the meeting strangers that i'm a bit too fragile for at the mo!-def something to consider when I get 'better' tho.0

ok, before your website, where and how did you sell?
do you have all the right metatags etc.. ( again I have no idea what I am on about ...)
Website is lovely, but I personally found it hard to see pics due to the light background of the website A darker colour would have made listings stand out more. BUT I am as blind as a bat so ignore me.
I sold a lot of swarovski crystal necklaces I made on ebay last year - about £30 each I think. I do everything on a Buy it now immediate payment needed free postage. But from speaking to friends, I think tiaras are the hot items. Can you do complex tiaras? Could you list the tiaras you have on ebay?
Did the romance earrings not fly off the shelf due to magazine article?
Have you tried craft fairs, or etsy/folksy?
When you sell other items on ebay, do you put a flyer in for the wedding jewellery?
Do you market anything as bridesmaids gifts or for them to wear?
Did you do well with prom market last year? Or is that a new line?
Wedding stuff I think is harder to sell. Mother in laws or friends may well see your site or items for sale, and mean to tell the bride to be but forget ! And it isnt really stuff you could buy for a bride without their opinion.
Do you have any hotel or church contacts? Some of them give out info packs to brides to be with details of recommended DJs, drivers etc... I would assume jewellery may be towards the end of a brides list of things to do, whereas the church or reception may be first?
What about marketing to husbands to be? A beautiful gift for your new wife on the wedding day to keep and cherish? Not sure if men buy online in this way though?
What about local beauticians or hairdressers? All my local ones have jewellery for sale in the window. Could you approach them and see if you could rent or sell items on commission? I appreciate you dont want items hanging around due to tarnishing, but if you pick exclusive well populated shops then it shouldnt be around for too long. I am not sure but I would imagine wedding shops are all about the dress and toehr things get overlooked.
Any new brides out there? If so, when did you buy your jewellery, and what factors did you consider before purchasing?
Do you sell to US? Someone said they go made for handmade english items as they think we are 'quaint' and olde worlde !
Do you know anyone who works in a call centre or hospital? Their notice boards will be well read and you might pick up some sales this way.
What is your target market? Younger brides? First time brides? 2 yrs to plan a wedding brides? Do you cater for more mature brides? Second or third marriages in registry offices? Quick last minute, need something desperately brides?
God I am rambling - sorryVR repayment £404 £156.02 PAID
Airpods repayment £249 £185 £75.90 PAID
Airpods repayment £144 £99.01 PAID
Capital One £14000 -
