Oh a question I have been meaning to ask, should it be in bold?

Any tips on brushing babies teeth? Lexi is now at a point where she wants to do it and Im really struggling to do it without causing a big scene, which I dont want to do as I dont want it to become a 'thing'

Glam - did Jack sleep better? I tried that trick to see if it's why Finn was having issue (our bedroom gets so cold at night) but it didn't help us . Last night was another fun one - I really wish this kid would outgrow his current phase! It's doing my head in.

still catching up, as was busy most of the day yesterday and then we had a power cut in the evening when I meant to come on & chat!

SS - poo on your poohead doctor. Also, where in the US is the job? I'm very intrigued - how does hubby feel about poss going back home?

anyone seen Fitzio or Beenie lately? hmmmm...there was someone else MIA but now I can't remember!

and every other thing I meant to reply to yesterday has now seaped out of my brain...

IIRC Jack put on 8oz at ten days and they were gobsmacked!

Well................................. Jack slept til 5am :j:j
Feel guilty now though cos he was obviosuly cold and I didn't realise
Came into my bed til 7.30am, had a bottle then we both went back to sleep til 10am!

Need to go to ASDA now so I can have a mammoth puree session later!

The job's in Pennsylvania, so we'd be a bit suburban/small townish but close enough to Philadelphia and NYC that it wouldn't be too much of a hardship. OH is not sold on the idea of living in the US but knew that marrying an academic would make moves mostly inevitable. It's tenure track, too, so ideal if I could get it. Odds a little against me though but we'll see.

Now that Rhys has been up for an hour (woken up by a delivery man who brought new smaller jeans, woohoo! ), it's apparent his cold is well and truly back He's sneezing lots, got snot all over his face (he's still tired and keeps rubbing his face again every time I clean him up!), eyes are streaming, sounds raspy/rumbly and has a hacking cough (wasn't like this at 8am!)

ETA: Ick.. teaching him to kiss my cheek was a bad idea - just got snotted/slobbered on, big stylee! _pale_

SS - The world is fat mad. So bad now people fret that babies are too fat! Tell your OH that babies are SUPPOSED to have fat!

Keira was a right chubby thing, once she started moving it just melts off.

She also had a tummy over the top of her nappy and fat leg rolls, lol, looked like someone had strung her legs up like a bit of beef,


Can't even put Keira to nursery today because Tesco can't give me a bloody time when they will show up, and that's IF they show up. How incompetient! I wish they'd tell me straight cause then I'd try and get my dad to take me shopping.

I have NO pull ups, NO cat food, NO meat, NO bread, NO milk.

I should demand money off my bill for them messing me around like mad!

TBH, I'd be the same (my DH has made it obvious he would love to move to the USA, but I do not want to go back), but would be fantastic if you got a tenure-track job though! I have a couple friends from PA but not really been there myself .

Glam, poo now I'm jealous! Maybe will persevere with making it warmer - we swaddle him already in a fleece blanket plus a thick sheet over top, so the only thing left is a hat and possibly another blanket! garrrrrrr...

I let Izzy have a go by herself while I brush my teeth, then I let her hold my toothbrush (and have ago at my teeth!) while I do hers.

The last few days she has been much more interested in opening the cupboard above the sink and taking everything out of it and I've been able to do her teeth while she is distracted, but that is probably not such a helpful suggestion

:mad: It's really annoying that they don't train people/give them the relevent information about the children they are working with. The first year I worked on a special needs playscheme we had this little boy who had major tantrums every day. The next year we (the playleaders who actually worked directly with the children) were allowed to see the application forms from the parents which gave details of how they communicated certain things. Turns out he'd been coming in every day trying to communicate to us in Makaton but we had no idea so it was no wonder he had tantrums when suddenly nobody understood him.

I was wondering that too.
