Tap water - Seth has been having it for months now in his sippy cup, but I still boil water for his bottles? Force of habit more than anything I think.

Carpet cleaning - the Rug Doctor is your friend, you can either hire or buy them! Amazing things! But if you just want a quick fix rather than a whole carpet cleaner effort, that Vanish mousse is pretty good, you just spray it over "traffic areas", smush it into the carpet and leave it to dry, then hoover a couple of hours later. We've used it a couple of times round the front door and the kitchen :)

Glam, Weezl recommended the Argos cheapy oil filled radiator so I got it for Seth's room, its perfect for a small room and much cheaper to run than heating the whole house :) IIRC Weezl worked it out at 9p a hour to run. Makes Seth's room nice and toasty, and doesnt make any loud clunky noises. Also, its got a thermostat so turns itself off once the room reaches temperature, so isnt on permanently :)

  • Ooh, has anyone given anything up for Lent? I've given up chocolate bars...I usually give up chocolate, full stop, but I can't bear to give up hot chocolate or mochas this year as they are my Mummy treat since I cannot currently booze! Bit half-hearted but will hopefully help my weightloss. I gave up chocolate last year for lent, then found out I was pregnant on the Thursday! Not easy, but I stuck with it.

I gave up cheese a couple of years ago and it traumatised me for life!!! I remember being in an Italian with hubby where they did real home-made cheesecakes and having to say no :( I love cheese and adore cheesecake...must get hubby to take me there again one day...they were baby friendly too!!!

This year I am giving up....

    breastfeeding???

    Eventually :o

Bloody charmin have changed their loo roll, they say they haven't but they have. *shuffles in her seat* Think you can get a mini dryer for 'personal use'? LOL!!!
  • Searching im glad its not just me i know your not meant to use them until they are 12months old. He currently goes to bed with his long sleeved vest a sleep suit then in his cot he has a lovely warm flannel sheet and his quilt i also have a blanket hanging off the end of the cot to throw over him if he needs it. to be honest though i dont think his sleep is being disrupted through cold though he wakes up for a feed most nights and wont settle until he has one he is a complete gannet.

He is on 3 meals a day and still has 6 bottles during the day and one at night. He is starting to want to feed himself though at the moment he can mange a half full bottle on his own but not a full one yet i'm trying to wean him on to cups if i can. I hope his growth spurts stop soon he is costing me a fortune in clothes he is just coming up to six months now and is already outgrowing his 6-9 month clothes. Hv doesnt seem concerned as he isnt putting on weight excessivley just constantly and he isnt fat at all he is very long think he will end up like his daddy who is 6'3" :-)

STOPTOBER CHALLANGE ... here we go !!
  • I gave up crisps for lent one year... That was harder than chocolate for me, we were on holiday for the last week of lent and kept buying huge bags of crisps for the children to snack on... Nearly killed me not to join in!!

Caitlyn had tap water in her cup right away.. I never boiled it for her lol..

Oh and I'm not convinced on professional carpet cleaners... My Mum paid to have hers done in her rental property after her last tennant left, before she sold the house she pulled the carpets up and I had her living room one for my house... They had to put a small patch in one area and the difference between the 2 pieces of carpet was just gross... Considering it was all supposed to have been cleaned, 1 part was beige and the other was manky beige/grey...
A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...
Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.

I was allergic to every other loo paper except charmin, so now I am screwed (and bloody irritated). I should email them 'me foof iant happy'
  • I thought charmin had changed seems a lot rougher than of old but i put it down to my imagination as my oh bought a mega pack of cheapy stuff last time so was using that for months and anything seems softer on the derriere than that stuff
