Sami - fairies came this afternoon thank you so much! :T Can't wait to try it out and see what she thinks
Tara - my nephew was born at 30 weeks and was in scbu for about 7 weeks, sister was discharged after 2 weeks but they still gave her meals when she was in for pumping. That was at Darlington Memorial in 08 (i think she had to ask though, she wasn't offered at first)0 -
workinmummy - hope you manage to sort it out with OH, text messaging is the easy way out - it does the work for him then he hopes you'll be home full of smiles........Sealed Pot Challenge #817 £50 banked0

On another note, she can contact Familyfund who can often provide grants for the cost of parking, travel and meals when a child (and babies) are in hopsital for any legnth of time even if they are not disabled, receiving DLA or are likely to be disabled in the future.

ETA, I heard about this from some girls on baby and bump in the premature section. Later I will try and find out who got grants. I also started a thread there regarding hospitals feeding mums.
:hello:
I got a grant from The Family Fund towards our travel costs, as we weren't entitled any other way (due to OH signing off from JSA because he got zero amount).
I got no meals while pumping, and didn't see any visiting BF mums being fed. Sorry.:heartpuls Mrs Marleyboy :heartpuls

Hi Tara
My daughter was admitted to a paediatric ward at St Peter's Chertsey at 4 days old. Although I was discharged, me and husband could stay with her in a side room. They fed me 3 meals which was a godsend and the nice lady even snuck hubby toast at breakfast. As her problem was poor feeding the aim of the hospital was to get her feeding better, so feeding me was key. As we were on childrens ward I got kids food but adult portions, but it was not really any different to being on maternity. Hope this helps.0 -

I need a list of hospitals that feed BF Mums whilst they stay on the ward or visit their children. PALs at St. Micheals have challenged me to see if their policy is correct!!!
Any hospitals you have been in and you are sure do this please tell me so I can email them as many as possible, and if you belong to any other forums please can you ask there?Any question, comment or opinion is not intended to be criticism of anyone else.2 Samuel 12:23 Romans 8:28 Psalm 30:5

HV - GP's are only comissioned to do the 6-8 week check
My baby boy can feed himself!!!!! :j
Admittedly I have to put the food on the spoon and put it in his hand upside down but he shovels it and hands it back for more. If I give him the spoon the right way up he gags on it.
He will also hold his bottle and try and put it in his mouth but its a bit heavy for him yet.
Sugar - thanks for pointing me in the direction of the SAHM staying Organised thread. I love having lists and crossing stuff off - having it on here makes me more inclined to do things. I have done so much today and am dead chuffed with myself!A very busy Yummy Mummy to a 1 year old gorgeous boy :smileyhea
