Ladies of Mse, your help is needed. I need a list of hospitals that feed BF Mums whilst they stay on the ward or visit their children. PALs at St. Micheals have challenged me to see if their policy is correct!!!
Any hospitals you have been in and you are sure do this please tell me so I can email them as many as possible, and if you belong to any other forums please can you ask there?

    :A:A:A

Argh Tara - I could shoot them!! Why on earth should you have to justify anything

    Will ask around for you...

tara do you mean in the SCBU?

In any ward other than as an in-patient post-natal.

They have moved DD as of half an hour ago to a Ronald McDonald house down the road so at least she can cook. But it's not just about her now. Any Mum needs this, and alot of people including you ladies could potentially end up with babies in there. There is a lady from Glasgow in there at the moment as it's the only hospital with the surgeon she needs for her baby. This needs sorting!!!!!!!

It doesn't help Tara but it's a Germany-wide policy to feed parents (not just BFing mothers) of babies in NICU and to have herbal tea, water and juice available.

I've tried to Google, and I'm not having much luck finding anyone's policies.

    Tara,

Crosshouse maternity (Crosshouse, Ayrshire) DO feed mums if they are staying 'on-site' but are not in-patients themselves.

Crosshouse childrens ward (in the big hospital) provide a card for the on-site restaurant for discounted meals (2 years ago fish and chips, a coffee and a yogurt cost me £3.00) they also keep some sandwiches on the ward for parents.

On another note, she can contact Familyfund who can often provide grants for the cost of parking, travel and meals when a child (and babies) are in hopsital for any legnth of time even if they are not disabled, receiving DLA or are likely to be disabled in the future.

ETA, I heard about this from some girls on baby and bump in the premature section. Later I will try and find out who got grants. I also started a thread there regarding hospitals feeding mums.

Sorry Tara, don't want to ignore your post, but can't help myself.

Which part of "I'm not talking to you" does OH not understand. A carpy little sorry via text, just doesn't cut it anymore. The ONLY way he can ever apologise is through a little electronic device. Well I'm not having it. Really do not want his apologies he can stuff them, where the sun doesn't shine. Oh look home time in ten minutes. Unfortunately have to go home to him, but hopefully one of my two boys will have a smile for me.
