Ladies of Mse, your help is needed. I need a list of hospitals that feed BF Mums whilst they stay on the ward or visit their children. PALs at St. Micheals have challenged me to see if their policy is correct!!!
Any hospitals you have been in and you are sure do this please tell me so I can email them as many as possible, and if you belong to any other forums please can you ask there?

Yep like Elle said (what a memory girl!)
I was in Warrington General Hospital. Jack was on the children's ward and as he was only a couple of days old we got a side room with a bed and a cot. I stayed with him and as I was BF at the time I was give my meals - they said this was there policy. Am sure if you rang their PALS department you could get a copy.A very busy Yummy Mummy to a 1 year old gorgeous boy :smileyhea
Where does the time go? :think:0 -

Tara one response already
When my daughter was admitted overnight aged 11 weeks, I was fed dinner and breakfast because I was breastfeeding; They also provided me with a fold-out bed so that I could be with her all night. My partner would have been
permitted to stay, but not given any food and had to sleep on a chair, so he
went home overnight.
This was at the Royal Berkshire Hospital, Reading, in 2004.0 -
Anyone found the criteria for a hospital getting the UNICEF award yet? Wonder if that's got anything in it... :cool:0

Not sure if this bit helps:
"All mothers should be enabled to stay with their baby 24 hours a day. Separation should only occur for acceptable clinical reasons or as a result of a fully informed choice by the mother."

has she actually dropped centiles? tbh I personally wouldn't worry if she is happy, some children are small and some are big it's just natural variation
only the other day, I think it was squishy posted that her lil girl who's 4mth old weighs more than my Edgar who's 8mths
i'm not too worried as i'm only 5ft 2'' and OH isn't huge at 5ft 10'', and neither of us are built particularly big, so she's probably gonna be quite small, and HV seems to agree for now. plus she is putting weight on and is fairly consistent (seems to be averaging about 2.5oz a week) - she's just following a much less steep curve!
she has dropped centiles - was between the 25th & 50th centiles for first 3-4 weeks, then dropped to between 9th and 25th last time at 5 weeks, and is now just on the 9th centile line. that's why she wants to weigh her again next fri, to make sure she hasn't dropped below that line as will then have crossed 2 centiles. but i've looked at what she would need to do to stay just on 9th centile and she'd still need to put about 11oz on by next fri! which seems unlikely to me seeing as she's only put on 18oz altogether in her 7 weeks so far :j Very proud mummy to Evie Mae born 26/12/09 :jAims for 2010 - be a good mummy, lose (some) weight, clear (some) debts, be happy0 -

Maz, are they using the chart for breastfed babies? Might be worth plotting her weight on this to be sure:

From what you've said, if I were in your situation, I would definitely not supplement. If you aren't happy with the idea of supplementing, give La Leche League a call and talk it through with them:

This page on increasing weightgain might be helpful, especially the bit about breast compression:
