Hi all
Weezl, I remain ready to set fire to/humiliate/browbeat/bond with/woo anyone you direct me at if it can help your work situation. It sounds like you are becoming accepting of the position you're in now?, which is probably good for your peace of mind but not very fair on you still
CBeebies - I like Charlie & Lola but Elijah is less keen  he likes ITNG but gets bored in the middle (he likes the BOOT and STAHS at the start, and the ROUNDROUND at the end). OH spends a lot of time singing things like "You can do it, eat your biscuit, you can do it, eat your biscuit" etc.
Weaning - getting to be a hot topic here, 18 months and still BF. Usually 3 times a day, but we've skipped a couple of mornings or lunches here and got away with it recently, and on the flip-side when he's woken up crying with teeth pain in the night he's sometimes had an extra feed for comfort.
OH would definitely like to see an end in sight, but I think mornings and evenings will be a real struggle unless he self-weans. Mornings, I have him for an hour and breakfast before putting him in bed with her, which gives her an extra hour's sleep - she is veeery bad with early starts
For evenings, it is a concrete part of his bedtime routine and I fear the stress of denying him before he's ready! Bedtimes are already pretty stressful :eek:0 -
mfd you mean you don't want to join us at Show me show me live then?
chugga chugga chugga...
LOL - I would love to join you [STRIKE]and get an opportunity to shake them [/STRIKE] but I am not sure that you would want to be associated with me
Oh yes - I have just been singing Chuggington in the officeit is a good job that we are all ladies with young(ish) children today!
Interesting discussion on stopping BF actually....perhaps prolonged BF isn't as much a choice to continue to BF, just a choice not to bother with stopping *shrugs shoulders*
Personally I don't want Benjamin to self-wean, I don't think I would be good with the rejection.

Becles, very nice to hear you sounding a bit more upbeat, sounds like Uni might yet be manageable which is really great news
especially if OH continues to help out a little more.

after the past 2 nights of screaming Charlie went down for a 2 hour nap with no complaints?? im confused lol!
beccles am glad you have managed to talkk things through and feel better, also good news on OH helping, its just the small things that help! What's for you won't go past you0 -
 At myself.
Looks like i have upset the lady from net-mums i was going to buy a Jumperoo from. We were trying to arrange for me to collect this weekend, I don't usually get on the laptop at weekends, so gave her my mobile no. to send me her address, only I typed in too many numbers.
I have only just thought to check messages on net-mums and she had sent her mobile no. and address details on Friday night.
Have sent v. apologetic text. She only wanted £30 too. (Obviously I have not seen the condition though) And collecting it would take me right past Middle-brook retail park,(Bolton) where i could divert to for some retail therapy of my own and a Starbucks coffee. Sigh, hope she isn't too upset and responds as she has already re-listed it.
Was far too busy being in a huff with OH and checking up on my Ebay sales. Stupid thing is I wanted to buy a Jumperoo or similar with the proceeds.0 -
Just tried T in his cushitush chair thing off ebay, wedged a soft toy in to prop him up a bit better (ok ok I nicked this idea off someone on here a couple of days ago, sorry cant remember who!!) and he seemed happy as larry in there, yay!!
Loving all the BF and weaning talk as I keep thinking ahead as to how we are gonna do it and how long I will carry on for, Im kinda hoping T makes the decision for me!!Baby Toby born 17th Nov 09 :j0 -
hi all,
hope you're all ok. not even going to try to catch up as haven't been on for a week or so!
had parents-in-laws up this weekend so me and Evie having a relaxing day at home while OH at work.
not sure how i'm feeling today. been a good but hectic weekend and kind of feel like I've missed time off with OH cos he's been busy with his parents and staying up with them while I've had early nights and stuff. so now he's back at work i'm missing him more than usual.
Plus health visitor came this morning to weigh Evie and she's 8lb 15oz. so only put another 5.5oz on in last 2 weeks. and only 1lb 2oz since she was born (7 weeks now). she seems to eat a lot and bf always been fine so not sure why. she's alert and generally fine and has plenty of wet and dirty nappies but if she goes down again on the percentile chart when she's weighed again next friday, she's going to have to start having some formula feeds:j Very proud mummy to Evie Mae born 26/12/09 :jAims for 2010 - be a good mummy, lose (some) weight, clear (some) debts, be happy0 -
maz are you eating enough? i found when i was run down and tired not eating reduced my milk, lots of chocolate on top of a healthy diet and they were putting on weight. just an idea???
my sister has phoned she had LO at another hosp app and he has only put on 200g in 2 months! i wish they would just look into this and find out whats wrong? What's for you won't go past you0 -
workinmummy - fingers crossed she realises it was just a mistake and you are not a timewaster. I went to see a CM I got in contact with through Netmums (my fabby CM came from an ad I put on there in desperation!!!) who I turned down because she worked with an assistant and could have up to 9 kids in the house at any one time. Her ad had said she worked with an assistant but I don't think I appreciated what it might mean when I went to see her...within seconds of me saying no she advertised again and put WITH ASSISTANT in capitals - made me feel about an inch tall
Maz - MilliesMum had similar 'problems' with her Ello and could probably give some support. You only need to do formula top-ups if YOU decide to, not if the HV thinks you should (she just wants all her kids to follow the 'average' child charts - and you can only get averages by having some kids at the extremities). xxxplease listen to MFD - she is a wise womanProud Mummy to the gorgeous Benjamin John born 14 March 2009, 8lbs 14ozA new little seedling on the way, due 30 September 20120 -
