On the children's ward I used to work on we used to feed the breastfeeding mums 3 meals a day, and snacks in between of fruit/toast/yoghurt if required. It never used to be anything fantastic, just whatever was made for the children, but the mum's were always very grateful :D As with others it wasn't policy just common sense ;)

    Have Pm'd you! X :)
Too many children, too little time!!!

    glad your ok Weezl xx

Workingmummy *hugs* hope your ok its been fun and games here too today and i can only offer an ear to listen :D the kids rabbit dies today and its set everything off again. i put an add on freecycle and have had 8 replies!! he was an old bunny who we rescued 2 years ago.

Tara i cant believ that they are doing this. Forth Park Hospital in Fife supplied me with food and a side room when Lewis was admitted with me having Rehus problems. They eventually put him in an incubator in my room and i stayed until he was better. i hope this is sorted out asap and i would consider going to the press!

Is he being impressive at all? :rotfl:

Very glad you're ok Weezl :j

I'm glad I found it too Glam, although I'm super excited to have found the Tasks option in GMail. I emailed them the other day to ask if they could code in a little fanfare for when all the tasks in a to do list are completed. I'm a true nerd.

Tara, I hope your DD gets what she needs. I'm shocked that they'd be so obstructive to a woman with a new baby in SCBU. It might be worth emailing/calling her local MP and the MP local to the hospital.

Your DD can also smile sweetly and tell the woman that she's able to shower at a local swimming pool so they shouldn't feel obliged on that account.

We have a new american physio. Seems nice enough. Still not too bothered about the reluctance to sit or roll over (pah!). Gave us some exercises to do - stuff I already do without having been told - and sent on our merry way for two months

My DD3 refused to even hold up her head until she was 10 months old.. she NEVER EVER rolled over.. in fact only 2 of mine ever did bother rolling over and then not until they were about 7-8 months.. then they crawled within a week!

DD3 didn't sit unaided until 11.5 months and crawled 3 days later and started walking at 15 months.. she was only 5 weeks prem and just simply couldn't be bothered.

DS3 who was 9 weeks prem was very ill for the first few months.. he was about the same ages as DD3 but born 4 weeks earlier.

He isn't 'behind' in his milestones.. just maybe a bit on the lazy side.. he'll get there in his own sweet time. I just assumed mine hated being face down because they were so infernally nosey they might miss something!

Ladies of Mse, your help is needed. I need a list of hospitals that feed BF Mums whilst they stay on the ward or visit their children. PALs at St. Micheals have challenged me to see if their policy is correct!!!
Any hospitals you have been in and you are sure do this please tell me so I can email them as many as possible, and if you belong to any other forums please can you ask there?

    :A:A:A

I've been in Leeds General.. they gave you a plate of something but I'm not sure what it was, they called it food.. I sent dad to chippy!

Hull.. unless you are an inmate you don't get fed.. on either the postnatal, neonatal or paediatric wards. When I was in with DD2 I had to have dad bring me stuff in.. she wasn't weaning so didn't require anything from them yet I was breastfeeding and left to starve for a week. The do provide a bed for you to stay with your child but no food even if you are breastfeeding... I did argue with them over this but even last year when my sister was in with her little one it was the same. You cannot stay on the neonatal wards with your baby, they have 1 parents room which is for the parents who are spending the night with their baby that is dead/dying.. ordinary postnatal parents are on a separate floor.. whether you've had a section or are on crutches with SPD.. and the baby is on another floor and you cannot stay with them.. THEN they complain when so many quit trying to breastfeed!!!! How is it possible when you are totally denied access to your baby?!
