Thank you so much. I successfully used this post to book excellent rates in Sicily and Malta. Have just looked at New York, and again looks very competitive, especially since they have thrown in an upgrade offer. BTW in Malta we had a Kia Shuma - absolutely dreadful but dirt cheap! So many shoes, so little time....0

Thanks for the codes
Have just tried to use code "A153700" on Avis.Com and it comes back as an invalid code ?????? Whereas I booked a car in Switzerland a few days ago using the same code which was ok.0 -
worked a treat - cheapest rental I could find for Spain. :-)0

Seems as if the Avis.com was having a blip as all the codes mentioned previously seem to work ok now.0

Thanks Mr Warren, Just saved over £220 for 18 day hire over Christmas in Tenerife! This includes the CDW and TP but now I have to decide whether it's worth paying the £120 to cover the excess, what do other Money savers usually do? Suggestions welcome!0

I've just used the A..... code for 10 day's car hire in the Canaries. Received a 39% discount or £70 off!!!! £114 for a Group B instead of £185
You can pay £51.45 to get a year's CDW excess cover from insurance4carhire.com, which beats Avis's £8.50 per day!!British Ex-pat in British Columbia!0 -
Just to let everyone know...... following on from my post #34 in this thread. We hired a Group G (Opel Vectra 1.9) using one of the AWD codes for our hol. in Portugal 10-24 Sept.
I paid the deposit of £332.64 online before we went. We had no trouble collecting the car at Faro Airport & weren't asked any awkward questions. We were even given an upgrade to an Audi A4.
When we returned the car we paid the balance of £186.29, making a total payment of £518.93.
The payment included 1 extra driver,CDW + excess opt-out,TP, VRF,local tax @ 19%, & unlimited mileage.
I'll leave you to decide whether the codes were any use but I feel we got a good deal....they didn't notice the scratches we'd put on the back when we pulled the suitcases out of the boot !!0 -
Thank you Mr Warren. I managed to get a car for seven days in Spain for £105 instead of £175. Opted to pay the extra insurance though. And don't forget to return to car with a full fuel tank!0

Many thanks - Recently used D005297 and saved a bundle, although I notice that the discount seems to have been reduced in the last few days.
I believe the code forms part of the Amateur Sports Assistance Program.
nb - There are two useful US code sites -
https://www.rentalcodes.com
https://www.travelcoupons.com
There is also an interesting Avis discount link at - http://www.travelsuperlink.com/car/us_car_rental_avis_awd.htm

Donnie wrote:The excess will be closer to £600. You will be offered an excess waiver when you get there. That could be an extra £13 per day for both damage and theft cover.
An alternative is to buy an annual excess cover policy; http://www.insurance4carhire.com for £49 plus 5% tax.
Just had an excess claim processed in less than two weeks by http://www.insurance4carhire.com
Well done to them.0
