Have used the A153700 code 3 times in the last month at Amsterdam, Paris and Geneva airports and it has never been queried or have I been asked who I work for.
The staff handling your booking at the pick-up point will probably not even notice what discount code is on the paperwork as there are soooo many !! They'll just be glad It's your business they have and looking forward to their Xmas bonus ;)

  • After using D005291 for 2 weeks hire in Portugal September last year with NO probs (see posts #34 & #88) I just did a quick comparison for 1 week Lisbon at Easter. VW polo1.2 a/c Group C.
    D005291, D005297, D005298 all pre-pay £127.78
    D086533 & A153700 pre-pay £88.51
Bet you can't guess which code I'm gonna use !!

i would say try them all as mine change from each code and the difference in ne was more by £20
appreciate what you have got x
  • just come back from australia. prebooked using the A153700 code - got a good discount. when i got to the desk, the agent asked if i worked for AVIS, i said that i worked for the NHS and that they have a special deal with AVIS and can book using the code. she said that i should have a letter from my manager to confirm this. i said that no-one had asked me to bring this along and she let it go. if you have any problems, i think you just have to blag it.
    stay lucky!
    Steve.

I use code D086533. This gives the same discount as the employees code without any problems.

Just tried a couple of codes and I like the prices. Going to Cork next month and arriving at about 23:00. Does anybody know where the codes come from? Don't really want to use one and get stuck with no car or having to pay the hire rate on the day.
