I would not feel guilty about 'checking up on him'. You are doing what a concerned parent should be doing and sadly, if you were to find either substances or strange fav on his internet sites , this would go towards explaining some of his behaviour...you are suspecting poss even airosol/ glue abuse?

Can cause delusions sofar I know......
The aerosols he was using to spray directly onto skin - no gap between the nozzle and his arm so it caused burns, looked like crop circle patterns up his lower arm. This has been placed on his records to be monitored but he seems to have fobbed everyone off with 'I did it to see what it would do' and up to know it worked.

Stef, I too didn't want to read and run and think you have received some good advice so far. I am so sorry about this current situation and wonder whether you could also call or email another mental health professional through Saneline who would signpost the appropriate services to you.
You seem like you are doing all you and hubby possibly can do to help him and that comes across in your posts. ,hugs and thoughts >

Another thought...could the assult have led to some brain damage? Being irrational and delusions are also not uncommon and it may be an idea to talk to an Occupational therapist for mental health?

After each assault he was taken to the hospital more for 'getting it on record' than actual treatment but one of the male nurses did do a series of extensive tests looking into his eyes to see if any damage had been done but nothing came of it.

The attacks went on over a week, always off school grounds so school would not take action - not even seperating them in class, until a teacher was driving home with her son in the car and her son knows mine and saw the little scum bag kicking him in the head, face, stsomach and raining punches in between at just about anywhere he could being egged on by year 11 lads. Deputy head brought him home in the school minibus but refused to walk him to the house, he let him walk 200 yards from main road to the house and quickly scarpered to the minibus and fled, all this was reported to the head at the time and the chair of goveners.

...as i read this back i can see it may come across that i make myself out to be the perfect parent and i could not possibly be to blame for what is going on, but i know this is something i can not deal with alone ....

Ask your GP for some support for yourself too - CAMHS may be able to offer you counselling to help you manage the situation.

The gp i have as soon as he is told the current situation i think it will be an automatic response of his to do as much as necessary as soon as possible. I know when the attacks took place and he was a nervous wreck he said he would not prescribe him anti depressents as he believed he was stable enough not to use them and didnt want to later have to deal with an adiction and thats why the referal to the psychotherapist.

    That is terrible !!

    So sorry to read this.....:(

I am not in the medical profession but was no scan being done? Is it really possible to totally exlude this through tests?

I would understand that a concussion would have been spotted like this but sustained hits on the head after a whole week?

The ticks are gone now? Why would they stay if no nerve damage ?

    Sounds not right to me........

Was it done just the once, or was it done more? Some people (not me, thankfully) might do it accidently - from what you've said, it doesn't sound like this si the case here.

No the ticks are at an all time high. If he does sit down stairs with us he will grunt quite loudly, if he is told to stop them he sits wrenching his neck to one side or fidgeting with his hands. He also has facial twitchs and again was told all this would clear up either with age or through peer pressure. No scan was done as no signs of trauma just a bit of vicious looking bruising.

It was done over a few days, the more the days went by the more appeared. He originally told us quite feasibly he had done the one on the bunsen burner in science, when we noticed another one he said he caught it on the oven in Home Economics, he does not do cooking at the min as it is not his term for it, so tried to say he had been asked to help out as they were short staffed.
