Because I love shopping, my mother who came with me doesn't! :rotfl:

Has anyone been at Easter time? Just wondered what weather etc was like?
Was going to go Christmas time, but as I want to do all tourist things I don't want my time to be spoilt by freezing/rainy weather, much as I would love to see the Christmas decorations.0 -
Hello - I wonder if anyone on here can help me.
I am getting married in 5 weeks and we were leaving it till last minute to book our honeymoon.
My wife really wants to go to New York, and I am thinking about surprising her and booking a short (probably 4 - 5 day) trip to NY.
I searched on Expedia for flight and hotels for the week straight after the wedding (24th July - 1st August) and prices seem to be around £900 per person, out of curiosity I searched for holidays for next week (June 21st) or the week after (June 28th) and they were more like £500 - 600 per person which is much closer to our budget.
However - our wedding is the last day of term for schools. Are those price rasies because the summer holidays will have just started, or are they higher because they are a few weeks further ahead yet? (I guess what im asking is if I wait till the week before the wedding will they come down to the 500 - 600 price?)
Thank you.

My fingers swelled up so much I was worried I might have to have my rings cut off. Fortunately a tip from MSE got them off when soap failed (threading a piece of cotton between ring and finger and working it round and round and round ...)
That's not to say you won't have a great time, just to warn you how HOT and HUMID it will be.Signature removed for peace of mind0 -

I have had a look, and I am only finding something coming in at about £850/£900 aswell.
If this is what your heart is set on I would just keep checking every day to see if something comes up, you never know what you might find.
I would be checking travelzoo, expedia, ebookers, lastminute, virgin holidays, ba. Also keep checking back here if anyone see's any deals about.
There are some flight only on lastminute. com going on the Thursday after the wedding for 5 nights for £588. But it still isn't cheap.0 -
I can vouch for the humidity, we were there a couple of weeks ago (1st week in June) just about bearable but exhausting with the walking you will do, wouldn't want to go any later in the season. Prices will be hiked up the minute the schools break up.0

The boathouse in Central Park always looks nice - is quite a way from Worth St though.
I'd go onto google maps, and enter the address of the marriage bureau, then choose the search nearby option to see what options you have close by, then check out reviews on each. Or post on TripAdvisors New York forum for some NYC locals advice.0 -
We went to the Boathouse for my birthday - it was really lovely, great food and a gorgeous view. Definitely worth it.“I tell you, we are here on Earth to fart around, and don't let anybody tell you different.”
