The airline sales start towards the end of next week, these will be mainly for Jan-Mar, there should be fares between £350-400 available.

Thanks for the replies everbody, have been looking on BA Holidays and they have some reasonable offers with flights from Newcastle,is there any other reputable companies that do flight/hotel packages?.
The reason i ask that is there is often posts in this forum where people have come unstuck purchasing from internet travel agents and the answers from the seasoned travellers is BOOK WITH THE AIRLINE.
Once again thanks for the help and info.
  • Virgin Atlantic immediately leap to mind, although I've used BA Holidays several times and have found them to be reasonable.

They're also on Topcashback, so you can earn a few quid back that way.

Yes others include expedia and trailfinders.
BA hols are good because you can pay a deposit.

Ones to avoid are Opodo and edreams and others you haven't really heard of, if the website looks like you are filling a form in, rather than an actual live booking, then you won't be getting an 'instant purchase' and they are likely to phone up and ask for more money.

again thanks for the replies,BA are looking favorites at the moment, spent about two hours last night checking the hotels they use on TA,i know on TA that a lot of the reports/posts are to be taken with a pinch of salt,ie the people who complain because the wallpaper did not meet their approval and the opposite, people who rave over places because they have never been else where to compair. ( like me this time as never been to NY before, went to Baltimore and Washington DC many many years ago but that was a freebee thru work )
If anyone can recomend a good hotel i will be very gratefull.:T

    hi

we ve been to ny twice and sadly only stayed in the same hotel twice which was the sheraton times square which my brother and i liked. The thing about *good* is good means different things to different people. for example my brother and I,. all we needed was good clean beds, which we got at the sheraton, a shower, toilet, which we got though it was a tiny bathroom( maybe typical in NY?) close to things, again were happy with the sheraton, Though on the plus side it was close to alot of the attractions times square, central park top of the rock, the empire state building.
hope this may be of help

    hi
and no worries, as for the hotel i mentioned, the sheraton at times square we felt it was clean, a fantastic location for the attractions,
oh there is a subway station pretty much beside the hotel( sorry cant tell you which though, or where it goes)
as for being safe, we felt pretty safe in the hotel,im sure it has a door person and well there was a sercurity looking type person sitting near the lifts , i think the front desk is 24hours as well
though in our both times to new york. the only time we felt a lil uneasy was when these gents tried to engage us into buying these cd's and would contineue to talk to us even though we said no,
As for food and drinks, there were a couple of bars about 30 seconds away or so from the hotel, one over the road and one towards central park which we just loved(the irish pub !) beside that( or one down) was a pizzera, both pubs did food though, there was a couple of cafe s near as well.
there are tons of bars in the area ,
