Hey thanks for that - didnt check and I thought it mean a change of flight but it must be Delta as the flights are direct. Looking at £1,600 for two people in October 2010 for 5 nights at Ace Hotel - looks good to me!
PS - if the volcano interrupted the hols would it mean I would be OK to stay in NYC and Virgin would pay for accomm etc? Also, if we could not go cos of the ash would we get a refund?0 -

I emailed our hotel in NY a few weeks ago about their fridges, which according to their site are "available" and they charge $25 per day for one. Having a fridge is a bonus for drinks and snacks etc but paying that much is'nt gonna happen.Live each day like its your last because one day you'll be right0 -

I think they paid for accom for people stuck in Florida. Ask the question on the Florida pages what happened.
We were due to go in April, cancelled due to medical reasons but it happened 2 days before volcano. They offered us a refund or to make a new bookingLoved our trip to the West Coast USA. Death Valley is the place to go!0 -
What's wrong with delta? only because I'm flying with them tomorrow. The plane isn't going to fall apart is it?
Just a random question but on delta flights do you have your own tv screen or one of them that comes out the celing?

Have to disagree on that one. Bought my wife some Clinique aromatics perfume at Century 21- came to £25, price here was about £54. Huge saving.
Yes, its cheaper over there compared to over here - but the prices are generally the same for cosmetics/perfumes etc. in all the large department stores there. They don't discount them in Century 21 like they do the clothes.“I tell you, we are here on Earth to fart around, and don't let anybody tell you different.”

We were stuck in NYC for 6 days - we flew with KLM (codeshare with Delta) and we got nothing at all. Neither did any of the other people who were stuck in the hotel with us.
I wouldn't expect to get anything from the airline if you're delayed.“I tell you, we are here on Earth to fart around, and don't let anybody tell you different.”

Century's cosmetics doesn't discount on the USA $ RRP, however, they used to (not sure if they still do) issue a credit voucher for your next instore purchase (can be used the same day, $5 or $10 depending on amount spent), thus, effectively giving a discount. I think it has something to do with fixed prices for this kind of merchandise. When department stores, like Macy's, offer storewide discounts, it usually EXCLUDES cosmetic/perfume purchases, I believe due to the fixed prices.0 -
Just to update since someone asked a few pages back... we did manage to get to NY after all and we were only delayed by 30 mins or so. Woohoo! Will post up a more detailed report once i get a chance to sleep. Was so touch and go about going since the plane from Newark definitely had to leave on the Wed 5th in order for us to get to fly on the Thu morning. Kinda left me in a predicament when i had two unpacked cases at midnight and had to be at the airport for 6 am haha.0
