And if it makes you feel better, DH always insists that we take a box of mansize Kleenex tissues with us. I have tried suggesting that we'd be able to buy them wherever we are, but in practice, you can't always get Kleenex, and you certainly can't always get man-size. I've tried weaning him onto cheaper brands, but it can't be done.

Both hotels we stayed in had boxes of tissues in the bathroom - I took a handful of those out with me, as some of the toilets (Starbucks especially!) aren't the nicest!

I would take as little as possible as you'll want every little bit of space in your suitcase to bring stuff back!

    Have a fantastic time.

    Couple of questions

    1. Flying to JFK 23 May, 4 adults and a child of 5. Will we all get in one taxi with luggage?

    2. We will be travelling to Baltimore, returning to NY on 28 May which is Memorial Day. Would it be advisable to book train tickets (Amtrak) now or will this work out more expensive?

I don't think it matters who you are flying with. There may or may not be a problem. Depends which way the wind blows between now and then, and while you're out there.

:rotfl: you'd have to pedal very hard to get enough momentum ...

(and yes, I know it was a typo for strike, but it still made me laugh)

I like the sephora near Saks however tbh I find all the sephora's the same and cant say I seen more in one than other. I'd avoid times sq store if you can as when I went was busy ( am sure it is all the time due to location)

I know century 21 has some cosmetics but not sure on prices/brands off the top of my head but may get cheaper there?!

I personally think its hard to compare the discount stores as its hit or miss when you go I think it just depends on what your looking for and if you go when they have just had delivery I sometimes find its not that they dont have nice things but just not in the size your looking for.

Yes century 21 is definatley hit and miss. I went in 3 times over 10 days to get the shoes in the size i wanted. Not sure when they have deliveries, but its worth popping in again if you ve seen something not in your size.
