Has anyone been to new york in oct?
just wondering what the weather is like.

Average temperature in early October ranges from approximately 16°C to 22°C but be warned that the weather in New York is often extremely unpredictable. I was there in mid-October last year and the temperature jumped from 8°C on the day I arrived to highs of 23°C only six days later.

I happen to be in New York overnight on the 21st September and thought I would take advantage by seeing a show whilst I'm there. Anyone any advice on how to get tickets the cheapest way possible or any recommendations of a good show to see? I'm staying on 5th Avenue so it would be handy if the theatre is not too far away.

    Cheers mates
If theres a show you really want to see I suggest booking them in advance instead of chancing on the day . You can try and get a discount code from broadwaybox.com can save money on lots of shows and sometimes can even work out cheaper than getting them while your there.

Saturday Steph??? How fast has that come around :D Seems only 5 mins since you were ment to be going bet you can't wait.

I seen your post about nyc pass however I have never got one so not familiar with prices. My recommendation would be to check that you will be going to most of the places and that you want to go. I know some passes include the Skyride at ESB which is really bad and wouldnt recommend paying for or wasting time on.

:rotfl: I know there's no such thing as a stupid question, but you have made me chuckle, this is NYC you are going to!

OK, their toilets are a bit 'different', but supplies of loo paper were perfectly adequate, and the water is safe to drink. (I'll probably be told it isn't now, but it's not UNsafe IYKWIM!)

Unless you are particularly prone to diarrhoea, you don't need to take your own medication, they have plentiful pharmacies, some of them probably open all night.

I always have a few tissues in my bag or pocket in case I find the one cubicle without paper, but that can happen anywhere!

    £80 thats cheap for two!!
Yes all available. I'd just take what you need and small first aid items like plasters for your feet after all the walking lol anything else you need you will find shampoo, toothpaste etc all very cheap not like spain, italy, portugal where there quite expensive so you can just leave them there to give you more space in suitcase.

This shops good for most things and has pharmacy items too, you'll find them all over the city:
    Duane Reade- http://www.duanereade.com/
I always buy my crest whitening strips from here lol.

Like Savvy sue I always have tissues in my bag anyway and I recommend wet wipes too I used them alot for when I was on/off subway.

    I wouldn't say a nutter. Perhaps a tad over-anxious, or over-excited, or something.

Just don't tell the Americans how pleased you are to find toilet paper freely available. :rotfl:
