That's not a comprehensive list. You've only highlighted some poor ones, so I'm unsure what your point is.
You maybe need to shop around a little more.
That is every UK major network. If you want to make a more comprehensive list for data in the US from all the major networks in the UK, feel free, however covering all the major networks and all their offerings on their website is enough information for many people.0 -
But you haven't highlighted all of the plans available on the major uk networks - just some of the poorer ones. That was my point.
I spend a lot of time in the US and data is critical to me, but not at those prices.Legal team on standby0 -

I've highlighted what is made available on each of the respective networks websites. You still haven't shown me anything that shows anything better. Please show me, as I'm intrigued but these amazing deals must be hidden as I can't find them by browsing their sites.0 -

I would suggest that most people using this thread are typically staying a few days in NYC and data useage is useful but not critical to them.
I'm sure there are better options if you need to be in constant contact with "the office" or whatever but for the average tourist a couple of texts and a bit of web browsing/e mail postcards is probably sufficient and using McDs wi-fi covered all my needs.0 -
Macy's and Starbuck's also have free wifi. What's App is handy instead of paying for texts when abroad too.0

We've managed to find wifi spots whenever we've needed to use the internet but the 3 SIM cards sound like a good alternative to be able to check it out before you leave your hotel.
Currently debating whether or not to book for New York today or leave it just now. I seem to have an eternal debate with myself over whether it will increase or decrease in price and kick myself when it increases! I think it's because it's so much more expensive now than when we have been the three previous times that i don't know if it's a good deal that we are getting just now!0 -
Hi there,
Wondering if anyone can give some advice please. I am hoping to book for a NY trip in Oct14, my dates are flexible, when is best to book as soon as or last minute? Also I have seen an offer for Fairfield Inn NY midtown penn station 5 nights from Glasgow (Expedia) £935. Is this a fair price? Also, I would like to stay somewhere nice but thats not going to be extortionate for drinks etc.
Thanks0 -

October is still a long way off, and prices can fluctuate.
Hotels in NYC are never a good place to consider having a drink at. There are 1000's of bars, restaurants, coffees shops and deli's in NYC which vary in prices. Hotels will normally be more extortionate than anywhere else.
The Penn Station area is not pretty, nor is it interesting. Penn Station itself is underground and the concrete build of Madison Sq Garden is above it. Restaurant are limited to chains and bars nearby are priced accordingly to the tourist trade it gets. There are better options out there.
However, when taking into account that flights cost around £450, that hotel is working out to be around $135 a night, so quite cheap.

The orange pay as you go prebooked daily rate advertised on their website is far better than you've highlighted in your original post. Possibly you need to be logged in as a customer to see it - I'm not sure.Legal team on standby0 -

I totally agree, and my opening post on the matter suggested using an offline map app rather than use any data. I followed that up saying you can get pretty cheap data bundles if you book in advance with your provider; another user disagreed, but then provided a list of poor value data packages.
My suggestions are for a casual tourist who may want a little Facebook or ability to iMessage/WhatsApp overseas which could potentially save them a lot of money vs traditional SMS charges.Legal team on standby0
