    Day 3 - Sunday

    6. Head down to Ground Zero, Statue of Liberty (on SI ferry), Wall Street (anything to do or see on Sunday?). Do Century 21 while in area.

    7. Would like to walk across Brooklyn Bridge (or at least half way and back!)

    8. Hollister Epic store in SoHo, head back via Greenwich Village

    9. Meal ?!

This sounds like a busy day to me. As i said on a previous post, queues for the SI ferry can be over an hour long. Make sure you get there early i.e 8 to half 8 to get on the first ferry across, otherwise you ll spend a good hour or so queing.

This day sounds very do-able to me. Not sure whether the poster who replied is mixing up the SI (Staten Island) ferry with the ferries for Ellis & Liberty Islands.

A trip to Liberty & Ellis Islands will likely take up half a day but a round trip on the Staten Island ferry takes about 1 hour. The SI ferry runs approximately every 30 minutes and I would actually recommend going after 10am on weekdays to avoid the commuters during rush-hour.

This will probably sound very silly, but when I plan anything we are doing in New York we always do the bit furthest north first, so when you walk you are going south and therefore downhill.

In a week of walking it can make quite a bit of difference.
  • for 2 people not in a hostel less than £470 for 3 nights???

That shoestring probably wouldn't stretch to one flight never mind accomodation.

I assumed they meant the budget for the hotel was £470 for 3 nights, which can be a push depending on where you stay

Think you need to clarify if that's per person and if that includes flights too?

    Hi
I have been looking for a holiday to New York for Dec 2010.
Travel Agent has come up with flights and hotel, The New Yorker, does anyone know if this is a nice hotel? I have looked on forums etc for reviews but just thought some one here would know.
    Thanks

At the top of this and every page, just above the first post, there is a 'search this thread' button. If you search for 'New Yorker' there are several mentions in this thread.
