    Day 3 - Sunday

    6. Head down to Ground Zero, Statue of Liberty (on SI ferry), Wall Street (anything to do or see on Sunday?). Do Century 21 while in area.

    7. Would like to walk across Brooklyn Bridge (or at least half way and back!)

    8. Hollister Epic store in SoHo, head back via Greenwich Village

    9. Meal ?!

This sounds like a busy day to me. As i said on a previous post, queues for the SI ferry can be over an hour long. Make sure you get there early i.e 8 to half 8 to get on the first ferry across, otherwise you ll spend a good hour or so queing.

Have just read this whole thread and not got much work done today! Thanks to everyone who has contributed, I have pages of notes. I am probably being a bit keen as not booked to go until September! We had to take advantage of the American Airlines sale that was in Martin's weekly email and then have treated ourselves to the NY Palace Hotel as is a kind-of honeymoon. Anyway... quick question, we are taking our 10 year old daughter and although we obviously have no plans to go wild at night (!) I was wondering how strict restaurants will be on having children in late in the evening or if there will be any problems going to the hotel bar with a child? I don't really drink but will definitely need to bribe my OH with beer in order to get all the shopping I have planned done!

Just about to book with Carmel for transfer from Airport to Hotel...

what about the return journey... do you book that from the UK as well, or wait until you get there, or is there a cheaper option?

If you book via Carmel, how long do you need to give yourself to get to the airport with the recommended 3 hours before flight?

    Thanks
    Tom

Depends how long your shoestring is and for how many people.
