Wow, thats a great price, well done!

Im with you on that one, im a bit of a foodie myself and the food is out of this world providing you step out of Time Square which provides tourists with the typical cheap bland rubbish. Hells Kitchen is the place to be!
I for one are sick of a little times square bashing . Try Shulas Steakhouse @ the Westin or The Edison Restraunt . There is A great Pizza house in a old church whose name i forget at quarter to 3 in the morning. Some great Chineses &Thai . Thats before you find Virgils and Juniors , Some bland overpriced craap agreed but some very special places to enjoy a decent meal all over the Times Square area (of which is really very small ) Hells Kitchen is very good with a Tex/Mex reccomended to me by a good knowledgable foodie back in 2010 and a brazilian too. Oh lord i need sleep . Dave enjoy NYC & stay safe

We are also thinking of booking Grand Hyatt as 42nd Street seems to be a popular area.
We stayed at the Grand Hyatt for 4 nights this summer. Grand Central is next door, in fact there is a side door from the lobby that will take you into the station, so couldn't be more convenient for the subway (and the food court!)
We'd stay there again for the convenience of the location.

    Absolutely agree with you greenface.

There are some damn fine eateries in TS area. Also, even the ones amongst us who have been many times are still tourists! Enough with the TS/tourist snobbery.

Damn it! Katz Deli! That was the one place I wanted to visit but I toally forgot when I went to NY! Im definitely going there this year, whether the girlfriend likes it or not!

Daughter went this year but was a little disappointed. Food average and the manager was very surly with customers. Maybe it was an off day though.

Looks like you have the short straw and you're flying American. That'll be T8 in JFK. What's the flight number, and I'll check for you?

Seriously? Damn! I've never flown with AA so I guess I can't knock them till I've tried them.

My flight number is BA 1588.

Apologies, I didn't mean it to come across that way. I'm a lover of Times Square, my hotel is literally inside the place. It's the most central place in my opinion to get around but each to their own. I don't think I managed to find a Steak house in TS, i LOVE steak!
