The 4/4/13 is a Thursday. We are planning to party the weekend before but I want to see her on her bday as its her 50th! They also live closer to London than us anyway :)
I guess we could get them in the Jan sales I'm just worried that we wont be able to get that specific date? :/
If you're only flying to NYC, flights are always expensive. Return flights are always cheaper, and return flights that include a Saturday night are cheaper still. Also, there is a slim chance you'll get in the country without a return ticket. I know you're coming back, but you haven't told me, so I have to assume that you're not looking at return flights.

If you're looking at a return flight for £950 for 1 person, that includes a Saturday night stay then it is daylight robbery.

I've just done a search on kayak.co.uk for a flight on the 4th April 2013, returning on the following monday, and the cheapest I've found is £502 per person, flying Iberia/BA.

Sorry, I will be more specific! We are returning from New York lol :) Our plan is to fly out on the 4th, travel to the wedding and stay at the hotel there on the Thur and Fri, travel back to NYC to stay for 7ish nights (this is flexible depending on price!) and then fly back. The £950 was for both of us, flying out the 4th returning 13th.

    Thanks :)

So £950 is for 2 people? So it is actually £425 per flight?

I always look at flights per person, and hotels are per room. It makes it easier.

Also, it is now clear that you're not wanting to fly on the 4th, and as flights change from day to day to day to day, you really have to be specific.

I now know you want to fly on the 5th April, and return on ?? something ish?

Prices can change by the day, so are you wanting 7 nights in NYC after the wedding? I don't mind spending time searching around, and finding great deals, but I'm not going search around on vagueness, and look for 5 nights after, 6 nights after.. I hope you understand what I mean.

Not stayed there, but the review on tripadvisor are good, also, it does get regularly recommended over on the NYC forum there. The real downside to it is the location. It is a bit of a wasteland for good bars and restaurants.

    Ok cool, thanks for that.

My last and IMO most important question.....best deli in the manhattan vicinity?

I've got a deli addiction and need a corned beef and pastrami sandwich....:D

impossible to pick a winner but some shop fronts often dont show off whats inside. You will find one close to your hotel and live there. Had a pulled pork /apple cider mustard & sausage meat on a warm "loaf" from somewhere by the Dakota (by a Irish pub) stunning.
 hard as nails on the internet . wimp in the real world

What is this "Manhattan Vicinity" you refer to? Manhattan is an island that is22.7 square miles in area, 13.4 miles long and 2.3 miles wide.

If you mean in the area of the hotel, I've already said there isn't much in the way of bars, restaurants etc in the area, and is full of corporate buildings, and chain places.

You'll have to get the Subway, and head somewhere like Houston Street, and get to Katz, or 2nd Avenue Deli.

Fur is everywhere is NYC and I recomend either taking one or buying one whilst there. There is even a "fur district" in NYC!! If you buy out of season (i.e. when its warmer) you will generally get more discount :money:.

    Have a great time!

I recommend taking a coat it may be hit or miss you finding something you like. You'll see a lot of ladies in fur in the city ....

the wind makes it colder, there was no snow in December 26-31 but windy and some rain. A couple of mild days blue skies, sun and no need for hat or gloves!

    are you flying B.A.?

there is a place called the Burlington coat factory which can be ok. They sell other bits too.
