Yeah, buy them out there, cos they are cheaper. You can get them in BestBuy. $79 plus tax works out to be £56ish.

Thanks Mark, I think the version you mean is the Kindle with special offers. I heard these come with advertisements? Have you seen this?

    Hi

Going in March - First time......So excited!!!

Am thinking of doing a helicopter ride while I'm there but there are so many tours & companies to choose from any opinions as to which are the best to fly with & opinions on the tours offered. Obviously being a first timer all the usual attractions are on my wish list.

Now I'm on a roll - I keep reading about the TKT's booth - is it worth waiting till I'm there for show tickets or scouting out Broadway Box / Ticketmaster before I go - there are a few shows I wouldn't mind seeing so I'm not set for any one in particular.

    Thanks for your help
  • If I book a car (Carmel, Dial7) how long after flight arrival should I book it for? To allow for immigration etc?

Also, if flight is late will they charge me extra for waiting or do they monitor flights etc?

We're off next week. Easy to book WTC - it seems farily quiet. Could even book for next day if needed.

Are there any ladies in their early fifties who might be visiting the Metropolitan soon. I have an annual pass which expires in July, which gives free entry. PM me if interested, as I'd like someone to get the chance to use it. I'd be there in spirit, it's fab

Ellis Island is quieter when the weather is cold or wet. & SoL/Statten Isl Ferry (after rush hour) WTC is a odd one because many people planning going to Ellis SoL Etc go to WTC & wall street instead because of the cold.

Anyone know if its worth waiting until I get to NY to buy a Kindle WiFi?
We've got 3 in the house, 2 of which have been returned and replaced by Amazon UK within their first year. Maybe I've just been unlucky, but I'd check out their policy for returns if you did have problems. Have a good time :)

Jazzy_B - also had 3 wifi kindles in the house, 2 of which bought in Best Buy, in New York City. 1 of the NYC kindles has been replaced by Amazon UK, so the warranty is NOT an issue. A quick google will prove how good Amazons customer service is with regards to Kindles.
