22nd till the 26th. Just found flights from Manchester at £40 cheaper but I would have to get there for 5am so not sure if it's worth the hassle. It does give me an extra 4 hours in NY overall though:o

These flights are with BA compared to KLM/ Delta. Does any one have any experience of these carriers?

So LBA leaving at 06:50am means getting a cab= £22
Manchester leaving at 07:10am means having to get there at 5am is that right, i'm connecting at LHR. Train = £27 return but a mega wait at the Airport.

I have flown B.A. In April was fine, I'm not a fan of flying so as long as I'm there and back safely!

are the flights you have seen direct? What's your preferred airport?
  • I've read through most of the thread and its been mentioned many times not to pre book the ESB because of weather/visibility etc etc.

As far as I know when you book it you get a year to use the tickets. Am I wrong here or are the people saying dont book it clueless?
What's gone will never come back. But it exists when you think of it ...
  • Hello

We have been to NYC over a dozen times by ourselves and with friends showing them around. Done all the main attractions and never done the pre booking and never had a problem. So I wouldn't bother. The only things we book are theartre tickets (Via Playbill) concerts and sporting events.

    Hello

Just wondering whether anyone has eaten at Southern Hospitality BBQ? What did you think?
  • Hi
we are getting to the point of -almost no return..

We know the dates we are going to be travelling but just cannot make a decision on the hotel, so I thought I would come here for some advice. There are 4 of us travelling-we need 2 rooms, we are close but not THAT close! We had originally fancied The Jewel hotel but then the prices went right up (over £200 each!) so it was back to the drawing board. We are now looking at either of the 2 quite central Comfort Inns for around £860ish or The New Yorker for £970ish..also Ive just found The Edison for £911 each. The Comfort Inns have complimentary breakfasts but then people are saying it gets very busy and you may well not be able to eat there due to that. I am getting so confused now..anyone got any advice..please???!

hello what dates are you travelling? Do you have a preference for location ?
  • We are looking at travelling on 3rd of june preferably and staying for 6 nights. we have never been to NY before and have generally no idea where we want to stay but had thought that these looked like good options as although we going as a group of 4 we wont be together all the time-taking my 20 year old daughter and her boyfriend so they would be grateful that it wasnt somewhere really quiet but dont particularly want somewhere thats near clubs etc.

    thanks for any advice!

What are looking for from the hotel do you want views? Great bedrooms and amenities? To be honest I don't know much about clubs . But there are so many hotels to choose from its difficult.

I have stayed further out near central park and also near the empire state building. Personally I preferred the 2nd location as I could walk to most places. Have a look at hotel thirtythirty.

Have you looked on tripadvisor to compare the hotels?
