I love this forum, I've been reading and contributing for a few years having been to NYC several times. We're currently organising a trip in April and some of the tips posted here have been invaluable.

I don't agree with everything thats posted. I love to shop, I'd like a free breakfast as it means I don't have to rush out first thing and find somewhere for a coffee and slightly more than a bagel on the go. I am happy to go outside of NYC and explore all neighbourhoods but equally as comfortable staying in Times Square.

Why does it have to be all about one person? Isn't this supposed to be a collective? All opinions, all ideas accepted?

Wi-fi and free t'internet (3g) are totally different things.

Your daughter may have free internet/txts/phone calls on her phone but the word free is replaced with the words "chuffing expensive" when she leaves the UK, therefore please ensure shes doesnt use the 3g internet on her phone when she leaves the UK.

Wi-fi, if free, is the way forward you will often need an access key but occasionaly the wi-fi hotspot is open access, this will only work of course if your daughters phone has wi-fi.

If your daughter has an ipod touch/or iphone there are free apps on itunes which list all the wi-fi hotspots

What the heck are you going on about.

I respect mark but his opinion is just that an opinion, I would never allow hos opinion to stop me eating, virgils steaks are great, staying, the novotel on times sq has been my fave hotel or going to times square.

There are plenty of people on here who have been to NYC as often as mark but they chose to keep low key which is up to them .

I, for instance, enjoy shopping and i dont really drink therefore if he says shopping is a waste of time and boozing is the way forward am i supposed to do as im told.

So get over yourself we all have opinions and we all have the right to express them, after all this is an open forum, and if someone doesnt agree with each other then thats the way of the world.

PB im thinking you would do well to take heed of your own advice, nonetheless i would like to remind you that sitting in the red lane and watching all the international arrivals doesn't constitute to actually visiting those international destinations :p

Yup thats correct the wi-fi, assuming its an open network, will be free, but as I said the mobile internet will cost a packet.

Red Channel/Red lane, i guess it depends what country you travel to - But i wouldn't expect you to know that

Why don't you stick to ripping of the public because they brought an extra bottle of Jack back and ill stick to advising on travel :p

And some of the helpful post have been here for over 3 weeks helping and posting not criticizing and correcting people. I had to take you off ignore to see what you've said and could reply with stupid ,rude and uninteresting posts but you would beat me with experience.
Take care & close the door as you troll off.
