Hi Everyone,
Think i've finally narrowed the dates down for my trip to New York to around the 14th December for 6/7 nights.
The hotels that are coming up with the best prices (based on twin beds)are:
Paramount £1015
Empire £1035
Novotel Times Square £1009
Intercontinental Times Square £1152
In your opinion are theses ok prices (i know it's an expensive time of year!) and which would be the best one to stay in?
Really want to get something boooked asap as I can see prices rising daily!!
Thanks0 -
Ive stayed in the novotel and it was very nice, have you looked at the reviews on tripadvisor for your list of hotels?Live each day like its your last because one day you'll be right0

Hi Phatbear - i've looked at the reviews for them all and they all have mostly really good reviews and a couple bad ones that's why I am soooo confused!!
I'm soooo excited to go!! :-)0 -
When hotels are so similar I base it on what the hotel is near, top priority for me is close'ness to a subway, then closeness to certain points of interest, for instance Mrs PB loves macys so we stayed at the raddison martinique last time to stop her having to keep going up and down the island, then finaly base it on price.
If you are doing new york right then you wont spend a lot of time in your room, or on mse answering questions (ahem)Live each day like its your last because one day you'll be right0 -
Is the current spider man not good then, I have seen mixed reviews of it?
Im really not into theatre all that much but the missus wants to see a show on broadway, Is there anything that is good for blokes or something a bit funny and not too serious? i.e not Phantom of the opera!:p0 -

I've seen it and it was great, odd thing is as a brit you tend to laugh at the bits which the rest of the audience dont.
However it closed on Broadway on Jan 11 2009.Live each day like its your last because one day you'll be right0 -
I would hang fire a bit before locking yourself into something totally un refundable and changeable. That week until the first weekend in September, is normally cheaper, (so it depends what prices you're taken aback by!), so you should be able to pick up some bargains, come July time quite easily.
It depends what you are looking for with your hotel, and the location you want. If you're more flexible, you'll get a great bargain. You need to quote exact dates, and your budget firstly to see if it is doable. The bear minimum I'd consider spending on a hotel room in NYC is around £100 a night. That'll get you something in a reasonable location, and a reasonable spec. However, you can look at boutique hotels in more alternative locations (still in Manhattan), and get high floor rooms with views, etc, for a little more. It just depends what you really want.

Well, I decided that the fx rate is good at the minute so I decided to have a crack on Priceline. I got the Intercontinental Barclay midtown for £100 a night. Probably could have got a better deal nearer the time but I'm glad I've got something booked now. Roll on August0 -

now i just have to resist the urge to go back on lastminute.com to see if the price has gone down lolz0 -
