    hey guys
anyone here done NY for 3 nights? just wondering if you found you had enough time to do all the things you wanted to do ? if you went back would you bite the bullet and pay a bit extra to have another night or two ?
i have found a hotel an flight package i like and i could also get a plane home late on the last day like 9pm or 11pm to stretch the holiday out a bit more
i have been thinking about booking a holiday there for about 3 weeks now and im really excited, i just need to get my passport back now so i can book it!!!

We went for 3 nights a few years ago and still managed to do and see everything we wanted to, I worked out an itinerary which did include some free time aswell so we had a great time, although we would have liked to stay longer as it was a bit intense but I think it depends what you want to do when you are there.

We are going again in a few weeks but for 7 nights this time, can't wait!! But I'm sure it still won't be long enough!!

    Hi,
We got back last Saturday from a 3 night stay and we did everything we planned to do. Our itinerary wasn't large and some people might think we didn't do enough but we had listed what we wanted to specifically see and we ticked everthing off. We might have done more on our last morning, which was walking around Central Park but it was raining, cold and generally miserable so we did a bit more shopping instead and had a really nice lunch.
I would definately go back but would probably do only one extra night and I would probably go later, say April or May when it might be less likely to rain and I'd maybe do more shopping, that is, visit the shops I would like to have done but didn't do, or spend more time in the ones I went to.
If I did 3 nights again, I would definately book a later flight home, ours left at around 7pm, which meant leaving the city at 2.30, I'd get the latest I possibly could in order to have a more full day in the city.
    Have a great time!

We did 3 nights - last week too - got a 9.45 pm flight back to extend the last day as much as poss but tbh I would've liked a couple of days more. You can fit most things in without problems but you just miss out on some of the spur of the moment things or a day to just wander through all of the shops on 5th ave :) If you have never been before 3 nights is definately enough time to get a good taste of the place :)

Hi there just wondering how you got on with jetlag? What's better an overnight flight or daytime? I am on an overnighter and hope the adjustment is better

3 good days are just about enough but you need a vague idea of what you want to do. Burning the candle at both ends is doable but thats after about 3 days so your stuffed . Early starts and early to bed . Plan TOP/MIDDLE and BOTTOM 3 different destinations and you can really enjoy nyc but leave enough time for the unexpected or the thing you didnt know you wanted to do. 5or6 days is about perfect.or 5 to 6 years if you have the money.
 hard as nails on the internet . wimp in the real world

re Jetlag erm well I can't really sleep on the plane, but I find it far easier to deal with the flights going west than coming home (which will pretty much always involve an overnight flight). The best way to deal with it is to try and stay awake until as late as you can (I went to sainsburys after got back to waste a couple of hours walking around) and sleep for as long as you need and then get up the next morning. I'm sure if you can get 6 hrs sleep on a plane (we were next to the galley and the crew were VERY loud) then you might find it easier to get back to normal.

i have some time off work from 10th - 20th so can pretty much be flexible in those dates but i was looking to do 14th - 17th/18th

i havent really set myself a strict budget looking at anything from £650 - £850 for flights + hotel at the momment, have seen a couple of places i like the sound of, checked them out on trip advisor too.

i cant get too serious about booking anything yet until i get my passport back :(
