This is a popular question and the answer is no one knows. For example if someone knew ur flights were gonna drop in a months time no one would buy them now and this would ave a detremental effect on the airlines cash flow. For bargains I tend to book well in advance and then nva look back at the prices.Live each day like its your last because one day you'll be right0

if you mean the ramada plaza new yorker then it's not that close to times sq as the hotel is on 34th and 8th whereas times sq is 42nd and broadway so you're 8 blocks down and 1 acrossLive each day like its your last because one day you'll be right0 -

Thanks Phatbear, I do understand this but as a non-regular airline user, I just wonder if more frequent travellers have any experience of prices rising and dropping by such dramatic amounts. If it is unlikely to change again, I will book now but I am reluctant to spend and extra £300 plus if I don't really have to. This will be the third time ever flying and the first time for booking and paying for tickets myself so am completely clueless as to prices but notice that M4RKM rates prices around the £500 mark as over-expensive. But if I have to fork out the extra, I will do and forever kick myself that I waited.0 -
I have stayed at New Yorker. It is close enough to Times square only a small walk away but not right near it ( which I thought was a good thing)
Right near penn as you say, very convient especially if getting airtrain or going out of the city to outlet. Apart from reception staff staff- not good customer service I have no complaints.
Rooms are a decent size, I upgraded to room with two double beds and this room was huge.New York ♥..........These street will make you feel brand new, Big lights will inspire you.
No place in the world that can compare ♥ 2nd October 2010 ♥0 -
Has anyone been on the sopranos tour?
If so whos the cheapest/ best place to book it with?
Massive fan of the show so the tours an essential for us!0 -
Also, I wish people would stop asking the question - should we book, will they go up, No one has a clue, so I don't tell people to book or not, and it is always your call. I do this so people can't complain at me, if the price went down a week or a month later.. it's all your call.

But problem solved anyway. Booked an indirect flight, takes 5 hours longer each way but saves us hundreds of pounds so worth it. Thanks for replying.0 -
I've had to pay £387.25 each booked with Royalties, flying with Virgin out of Glasgow (stopover in Heathrow). It was the cheapest I could get anywhere. Leaving 29 April and returning 03 May which I now realise is a bank holiday Monday, hence the big jump in price. When I originally looked at direct flights from Glasgow they were approx £400 return each but when i went to book yesterday they had jumped to over £550 each return. My fault for not booking sooner and I would have done had I realised it was a bank holiday but hey ho, that's life. Got a cheaper deal now anyway so despite 3 hour stopover I'm still happy.:)0

eg when I drive over to my son's flat, there are a few place on my journey when I'm on top of a hill, and I can see rows and rows of houses stretching away to the horizon. I don't recall getting that effect in NYC, because there are tall buildings in the way.
Yes, it's big, yes, it's noisy, yes, there is lots of traffic and no, I wouldn't want to drive in that traffic. But then, I wouldn't want to drive around central London either, and last time I travelled across London in a Friday rush hour was a far worse experience than the NY subway!Signature removed for peace of mind0
