its yellow:por goes underground and called a subway not a metro;).
Transport links are good and run often the system is fairly easy to suss out and the further out you go the quieter you get. Keep your wits about you if traveling anywhere (even in your own town ) and try not to act like a tourist.
Where are you staying ?? hard as nails on the internet . wimp in the real world :cool:0 -
Not sure yet, was thinking of maybe something cheaper than Manhattan.Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0

I've never known them to do that, normally at T3, you go to the top of the ramp, and left to the departures level. Weird that!
Given the amount of “code-sharing” or whatever you call it, I would expect a company that does airline pick-ups to check where flights are due, not just go “Durrrrr, KLM at T4, right?”You don't need to load it with $10 to get the $2.25 rate, that is the standard pay per ride metrocard rate. However, if you load it with $10 you get a bonus of 7%, It's also a subway not a metro., so your 4 trips cost you $18 the way you did it, rather than the $16.85 it should have cost, bringing your price per trip down to $2.11
If you buy a single ticket, it is $2.50. Single tickets are cardboard, and not a plastic metrocard.

Just been sad enough to sit down and work it out. We paid $18 for 4 trips but I think that would have cost us only $17 if we had loaded a card.
In 4 days we only took 3 cabs and 4 subway trip (sorry I’ve got metro stuck in my head because of Paris and the big white M sign doesn't help!) which cost less in total than buying unlimited passes. Despite saying we didn’t want to walk, we found things so close to us it was the easiest way to do it and walking is the best way of seeing a new city (or old for that matter)I spend less than I earn and if I can't afford it I don't buy it. I'm guessing that makes me a money saver.0 -

I think in that instance, you could have put the NON KLM code in, and carmel would have met you at the right terminal. a codeshare is just that, it isn't a flight.
I avoid flying codeshares, even if it's £20 more, I fly with the airline itself, stupid rule I have, but it works for me

Really? Just get a cheap hotel, and use chauffer parking. I have a link at home, I can share that gives 10% off skyparksecure, and that got me 8 days parking for £35. bargain

Ah-ha, I got confused by the $2.50, $2.25 and bonus rates. Preferred to do it PAYG anyway as there’s no point saving a few cents per trip if you are left with unused dollars on a travel card. Penny wise pound foolish

Well, the M stands for MTA - Metropolitan Transit Authority, as it is part of their logo. it's on bus stops etc as well as subway stations.
I think in my last week in NYC, I took 1 cab, and multiple subway trips. It is convenient, and not EVERYTHING is close together, however, everything YOU wanted to see was. Each to their own, That $1.15 saving would have bought you a drink for free..

Crowne Plaza at Times Square. The hotel itself was fine but the service from the staff varied between very good, indifferent and shambolic, culminating in a $160 food/bar bill on our tab at checking out when we hadn't even eaten or drank in the hotel.
Just booked flight and hotel via Opodo, my wife picked it. Looked at flight and hotels prices and bought when the price for the package looked pretty good (i.e £200 less than it has been the week before)I spend less than I earn and if I can't afford it I don't buy it. I'm guessing that makes me a money saver.0
