Cheers M
We are planning to get the subway to Brooklyn then walk back over the bridge, my question is whats the best stop get off and see some sites/some where to eat but not to far from the bridge also where going to the knicks game on the 6th then plan to watch the superball in a pub/bar any recomends in the SoHo area?
Brooklyn is bigger than Manhattan. The sites are so scattered around, you could spend a day there easily. I'd recommend a trip to Park Slope maybe, and wander around there, or also there is Prospect Park too.
Get off the A or C train at High Street to be nearest the Bridge.
If you're limited on time, and want to eat near the bridge, then Petes Downtown has had plenty of recommendations. Walk past the queue for Grimaldi's which is tourist trap, though reasonably good pizza, and just a bit further down the road is Petes Downtown.
Now, if you're wanting to see the Superbowl (not superball), then I'd recommend good sports bars. Now, I can't think of anywhere off the top of my head in SoHo, mainly because I've not gone drinking around there that much, there will be plenty around if you just wander the streets
Here are some awesome sports bar choices anyway.
Bar XII - Murray Hill - this is a football bar, I watched a game here in September, great atmosphere - they want you to make a reservation though on their website now - http://www.bar12.com/ Bring a jacket, the aircon makes it COLD in here.
Mudville 9 - Wings are awesome here in this Tribeca bar. Chambers Street on the 1/2/3 lines
Village Pourhouse - The start of the village, it's a nice area, great to explore around too, Astor Place or 14th St Union Square for subway0 -

Hi all, had a bit of interesting news the other day (on my birthday no less). Turns out i've won a 3 night stay in NYC with flights included!
We're flying with Continental from Manchester so having to drive down from Glasgow. Just wondering whether anyone had any advice on which car park would be recommended? Thanks0 -

Thank you! It's all legit. I have only now started to believe that it is actually true haha. I am so cynical at the best of times so i wasn't really buying it but the flights are all confirmed and now just awaiting hotel confirmation for our chosen dates. It's at a Holiday Inn in Midtown, not great but does the job so can't complain!
I never win competitions either but since this is the only one i've entered in the last two years, it's not a bad success rate i've got.
Thing is, i had already booked with my partner to go in June! So taking my mum with me for this one.0 -

Decent size rooms. If you can, ask to go on a high floor with a balcony.
There are a few grocery stores/supermarkets nearby if you like to cook.
The rooms are a little dated. You are not going to get all the mod cons, and the kitchen only has basic utenils.
The free tea/coffee is a nice welcome treat
It was a nice place to stay and would recommend staying there if you want an apartment style hotel. However please bear in mind the decor is dated.
Also if you want wi-fi you will have to pay. I believe it is around $15 a day0 -
Thanks lotte, sounds just what we want, not planning on cooking, not overly bothered with decor as long as its clean! Apartment style suits us 2 adults 3 children- now looking forward to it x0
